Quick question Arsenal fans â is Saha the extra bit of pizzazz that will push Spurs closer to winning the PL title? Reason I've asked is because you're their rivals, and as their rivals you'd know the most. We cannot point to mismanagement as a source of Saha's recent goal drought. Moyes is one of the best managers in the PL, or even the world. If there is anyone that can squeeze every bit of ability out of his team, it's Moyes. Another factor we can rule out is stiff competition or being forced out of the starting lineup. Everton's leading goal scorer is Baines with four goals â hardly impressive for a team's top scorer but certainly impressive for a full back. Saha was in the ideal position, as a striker, to lift his team Are there some possibilities? Yes, he could be dealing with some niggling injuries or he could simply be going through a bad patch. Professional players are allowed to have dry spells right? What's that old saying? Form is temporary...something like that. At 33, Saha is at Spurs for his experience to be honest. In a title push, or any kind of end-of-season push for that matter, experienced professionals help to steady younger players through the tough games. Saha has won the PL. He knows how to win when it counts. He's been in squads that could roll up their sleeves and grind out a result. Though, my opinion is what matters, I'd still like to hear your opinions of Saha joining your noisy neighbours.
No disrespect, but with the way you guys play, Messi/Ronaldo will struggle to score in your team. Is Saha the missing bit of the the jigsaw, only time will tell, Newcastle was poor yesterday and no doubt there will be sterner tests...... I thought he was also injury prone?
Saha had a good debut, but to be honest Newcastle rolled over for Spurs yesterday. I think if Saha was ever going to become a top premiership striker it would have happened at Man Utd. Not so say that he might not score some important goals for Spurs, but I think his best days are behind him. I don't think he'll help Spurs to their first title in over half a century, I think it's going to go to one of the Manchester clubs this year.
Saha's always been a top player, but injuries have prevented him from fulfilling his potential. If this is how good he's been when injuries have hampered his progress, think how good he could have been if he wasn't so injury prone - he would still be at Man Utd IMO. Imagine a front three of Ronaldo, Rooney and a fit Saha - that would be a devastating attack. I didn't actually think he would get back to form, considering he'd scored twice in 20 appearances for Everton this season, but he's already matched his goal tally for Everton this season in one match. He definitely complements Spurs' style of play. Quick, aggressive, intelligent, deadly at finishing and links up well with Adebayor. He's been a better acquisition than I thought he would be. Spurs now have three options of Defoe, Adebayor and Saha - now that is strength in depth in attack. If all three can stay fit and perform when they're called upon, Spurs could cement a top four spot very soon. Harry's been very shrewd with his transfers and after the whole Modric saga disrupting the Spurs' dressing room in the Summer and then Harry going on trial for tax evasion, you have to give the Spurs' players a lot of credit for maintaining their focus on the pitch and not letting off the pitch problems affect their performances.
