Dietmar Hamann is set to take over at Stockport County. The club has recently been taken over by a Liverpool-based consortium headed by the businessman, Tony Evans. Hamann is set to be given a one-year contract at Edgeley Park replacing Ray Mathias who is considering whether to remain at the club. Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14033079.stm As a Liverpool fan, I wish Dietmar all the very best at Stockport County. I hope he comes back to Liverpool in a coaching capacity in the future and hopefully if can do a good job at Stockport, he could consider coming back to Liverpool. Good luck for next season.
you have made the same stupid mistake wrexham have done, instead of employing a first class coach who knows the BSP inside out, you go and get a ex premiership player who hasn't got a clue about life in footballs basement and has no conception what type of player that plays there or what type of football is played...good luck for next season...you will need it!!
Tinned, his appointment is bloody daft, Ray Mathias, a man with all the knowledege and experience needed at this level, was only given the Job 4 weeks ago! But we've got him now, so will get behind him, looking forward to playing you again.
i would have thought Ray would have been an excellent manager at this level, its a bloody hard league to get out of now and you needs tuns of luck on your side, but never mind hope to see you next season...
They have just been taken over by a Liverpool-based consortium headed by Tony Evans. To be fair, I believe Stockport needed a cash injection so this consortium has helped Stockport's financial situation.
We have just had a windfall from the sale of Anthony Pilkington to Norwich, we had a 20% sell on, possibly worth £500K certainly get £300K+ This new Consortium is quite another matter, they haven't put any money in yet, just a Sponsorship Deal, but after Due Dilligence they have an option to take a majority share. Rumour has it that Steven Vaughan of Chester shame is behind it, sincerely hope not
I guess the Anthony Pilkington sell on clause would have significantly boosted your finances especially considering you've just dropped out of the football league. And i'd be worried if Steven Vaughan is involved. Hasn't he been banned from football yet?
Vaughan .......his name is as synonymous as Attila the Hun or Adolf Hitler in football circles......please god let this not be true!!..good luck boys!!
