I do think he is a good player but he does seem to have some attitude problems. I do think that if we move for him, the club will make sure that his attitude problems are in the past.

plus after attitude problems at Juve and Wolfsburg, hopefully he will come to the realization that he needs to sort it. I think having Lucas in the squad will help as he will have someone who he can relate to, speak his language with ( brazilian portugeuse and Portugal vary a lot I think, slang), will really help him settle in.

Yes i think. Also some of the pronounciation is different, and I think the slang is way off too. If you do the online translator it always gives you portugal portugeuse and had some brazilian friends look at and they were like a confused dog looking at it , " Que porra e essa?"

For Example, Football factory to an American who has never really heard Cockney will be more confused than Scooby doo.

    Bluff
I was being sarky but I take your point. I have an extended family member who is Brazilian and a couple of Portugese I know find him hard to understand at times.
When you see how different areas of a small island like Britain can mangle the same language it's hardly surprising what 5000 miles and a few hundred years can do.

to be honest last time i really payed attention to one of his matches was a European game for Bremen (i believe) and i remember him being superb, and i mean superb. £7mil wouldn't be a bad price, would think with him being a Brazilian we could move him to Turkey in a couple of years at no great loss. Maybe you're right and he will realise this is his big shot.

Can't imagine his bad boy rep has gone under Kenny's radar so I'm sure if we're going for him KK's confident he can deal with that.

Ya, and we have the same thing here, a New England accent is completely different than a New Jersey, a hill billy/ country accent is way different from a California accent. Canadians as well have a different cadence as well.

He had a few bright spots at Juventus but I think the reason he failed at Wolfsburg was maybe do to him not being allowed to be him, to play creative, with flair, etc. At Bremen didn't him and Ozil have a lot of freedom in the team to roam, create, etc? Maybe he just needs a team that plays to his strengths, style, personality, etc.

I'm in an amateur theatre group. We've done a number of plays with American accents though I doubt a genuine yank would have a clue where theyre supposed to be from. :)

Apologies to the OP- we've gone off topic a bit!

Yet more paper talk! My knowledge of Diego is limited to Champ Manager!

He was good for me, but I don't know about reality. 7 seems goods though, especialy if you consider Henderson was a staggering amount.

bow4 you have never seen Diego play? Man he was awesome at bremen, I remember Real were after him and a few other clubs and he went to Juventus, didn't go well there, then Wolfsburg where he was probably tied down by Mcclaren.

He is a good example of the form is temporary, class is permanent. He has class, just needs some attitude tweaking and he will be awesome again. Midfield of Lucas/Gerrard/Aqua/Miereles/Diego as options, and henderson too.

    It does you're right.

I wish we had bought somone like Diego instead of Henderson. He may turn out good, but 20 mill is so much money or an unproven player.

I'd be more willing to take a punt on someone like Diego who's played for big teams. Hendersson 8-10 million on top.

I'd love to see us go for Diego, maybe a straight swap for Meireles?

Yeah, if King Kenny can sort Aqualani and Diego's attitudes out it could prove to be very interesting as competition for places in the first team will hot up
