Probably click-bait given there isn’t much else to write about (I didn’t realise we were in a ‘contract stand-off’ with him...?) Extracted from https://www.lancs.live/sport/footba...overs-liverpool-derby-birmingham-18376540.amp Turkish interest for Robins striker Bristol City forward Famara Diédhiou is reportedly attracting interest from Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahçe. Diédhiou has been in a contract stand-off with the club this year and as his deal only has 12 months left to run, the summer may be Lee Johnson’s last opportunity to recoup a fee for the Senegalese striker. The 27-year-old has been a long-time favourite at Ashton Gate since joining from Ligue 1 side Angers in 2017. In each of his three seasons at the club, he has reached double figures in the goalscoring charts, ten of which have come this season. There has been interest in Diédhiou’s services from Turkey for some time, but Fenerbahçe are said to have identified him as a top target ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to Turkish reports. Due to Bristol City’s uncertain financial situation in the months to come, striking a cash deal for the Senegal international could be tempting.
Apparently we’ve been speaking to them..... https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/u...-react-to-latest-famara-diedhiou-reports/amp/
This could be a good move for all concerned. I've said many times that Fammy is not the guy to shoot us to the next level.
I think City might miss him, up front and defending set pieces. A lot of City fans thought we wouldn't miss Marlon Pack. He never set the world alight but arguably our midfield is now the weakest area.
Bye then If he doesn't want to stay and we get a good offer then we take it and move on Club is bigger and more important than he is.
Compatriot could be key in club signing Bristol City player By Nihat Emre Kocaaslan - 10th June 2020 SHARE According to Turkish TV Channel A Spor Fenerbahce are hoping to use the influence of their former striker Moussa Sow in order to sign Bristol City’s Famara Diedhiou. Reports in the English press last week linked the Senegalese attacker to the Super Lig side, and A Spor report his compatriot could play a pivotal role in Fenerbahce’s pursuit of the player. It’s reported Diedhiou will consider leaving this summer if Bristol City don’t get promotion to the Premier League, and Fener could be his next destination if that happens. The Yellow Canaries could be in the market for a forward, especially if Vedat Muriqi, who has been the subject of many transfer rumours, leaves the club. The Kosovo international has been linked with moves Tottenham Hotspur and Lazio, among others. This season Diedhiou has made 35 appearances in all competitions for Lee Johnson’s side, scoring 12 goals. His contract with Bristol City will expire at the end of June 2021. http://sportwitness.co.uk/compatriot-key-club-signing-bristol-city-player/
Even If we did get promotion, there is no way that Diedhiou is capable of playing at the top level in England. Not unless we want to be relegated by the end of October anyway.
It's time for him to move on because I don't truly believe that he lived up to the expectations that came with the package.
it is always difficult to say would be or wouldn't be …. different pace different attitudes and better quality supply! can make a average into PP or a genius!
