That is no surprise, just that it is Swansea City and not Cardiff City. Perhaps there was a legal reason that he could not go directly to Wales.

who can ever know...but would he have scouted the players we bought? Or would he have found others? And what is he thinking now as he watches from afar...these and other questions can never be answered, but it's fun to speculate.

I think the quality of player was better when he brought them in ,shame MM nicked them! I think the replacement and SD have gone another direction ,but we wont go into that! Didnt last long at Brighton and must admit that did surprise me as they are defo upwardly mobile!

We seem to have departed radically from the Stephenson model when it comes to player recruitment and development. His strategy was to work towards 50% of the starting line-up to be Academy products We have gone backwards from that aim since last year. He aimed for an 80% success rate on transfers. It remains to be seen how many of this years recruits will turn out to be a "success", but I cannot imagine he would have proposed recruiting the likes of Iwelumo, Yeates, Bauben, Garner, Mirfin--possibly Forsyth would fit his template.

Roger, I agree with you about the current intake apart from Buaben, as he was in the SPL before coming to us.

I think its why Winter left...difference in transfer methods.
