On the BBC Sport site heralding the arrival of Agard SC used the following words. The City captain has been the subject of bids from Brighton but Cotterill insists: "We haven't bought Kieran Agard so that we can sell Sam Baldock. "Anybody that's come in for Sam is nowhere near [the valuation] but I've got a sneaky feeling there's going to be a twist in this tale. I still think there might be someone else who's interested. "I'd love for the transfer window to shut and for us to still have Sam. I can't promise that but all I can promise is if Sam ends up going somewhere, which we don't want to happen, it will be for a fee that measures up to his ability." What do you think? Is there a deal still to be had for Sam?
I think there is always a deal to be had where Sam is concerned, with only a year left on his contract but at the right price. I think if he was on the verge of leaving then we wouldn't be playing him as Rotherham had done with Agard. Of course this could change on Saturday with his arrival. I think the next 10 days of the window will still have twists
Sounds like he is hedging his bets a bit to me- Love Baldock to stay but if an increased offer comes in, I reckon he could be gone
dont you think apart from his goals, i think he has the support and respect of the team and he leads and speaks so well, a very good captain me thinks
Personally I would rather a captain from the centre back position, one who faces the rest of the team and directs the flow of traffic. Next preference would be central midfield, then forward then keeper. Dino Zoff captained Italy to a world cup win, but we don't have a captain between the stix I would say Elliott, or Williams
Sounded to me like SC trying to push Brighton into making a realistic offer or risk missing out. I expect he would rather keep Sam but if he thinks the player is keen to move up a league it makes sense to try and speed it up and get a decent price.
