horrible situation which ever way I look at it 1) he was telling the truth...(I find that impossible to believe after Henry, Vierra, wiltord etc etc.) ... really bad for Arsenal and Wenger 2) if the press / media are lying...(very easy to believe unfortunately)...then that's just appalling 3) if he was joking...(possible) ... then it was, at best stupid, and at worst outrageous to use such a serious allegation so flippantly and put the club and Wenger in a very difficult position ....look at the **** storm over Hodgson telling a story at HT in the England dressing room I really hope it's the press twisting what he wrote, or taking it out of context or simply making it up
He's claimed that it had nothing to do with football. Maybe he keeps getting pulled over by the police or something? Young, non-white guy in London who presumably drives an expensive car. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
This is exactly what idiotic tweets lead to: some people start considering it as an option. And some put it as No 1 option. Then there will always be some who will not care to read beyond Option 1. The idiocy is spreading.
I think that's that for him, the ****er keeps doing stupid stuff on the net, and this just takes the cake.
I would understand if you were currently playing more than 2 white englishmen. I think the obvious problem is that he is a very average player, and you have an abundance of brilliant midfielders. If he was as good at CB or striker as he is in Midfield, he might stand a chance in your cup games. what a muppet.
This is the Telegraphs take on it http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...more-chances-if-he-was-white-and-English.html Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has sparked a race row at the Emirates after implying that he would have more first-team opportunities if he was "white and English". Ahead of Tuesday night's Capital One Cup clash against Chelsea, Frimpong was asked on Twitter why he isn't in the side. And the Ghana star replied: "LOL I wanna laugh". Before adding: "Sometimes I wish I was white and English #realtalk". Frimpong has 683,000 followers and the comment caused such an immediate stir it was quickly deleted, with a swift follow-up tweet saying: "Not every tweet is football related". Later the 21-year-old added: "Look what ever you read tomorrow has majorly been twisted. Is a joke what people will do to start controversy goodnight people". In fact, Frimpong's omission had been raised earlier in the day, with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger telling the club's official website that the player was not in the squad because "he is still short of competition". However, it is not the first time Frimpong has caused controversy on Twitter. He was previously charged with improper conduct and fined £6,000 by the FA after a comment aimed at a Tottenham fan in 2012, who he branded "scum y**".
The way he behaves even in the capacity of a professional football player, I'd guess he provides plenty of legitimate reasons to be pulled over when he's not in the limelight.
sorry mate but I have no idea what this means...sounds like you are saying or implying that I have taken his tweet out of context and applied it to arsenal. I thought he was asked why he wasn't playing tonight and his response was that he would have more first-team opportunities if he was "white and English". It's not my fault that some people (in your opinion) wouldn't read beyond point one after all it's only a 6 line post...but I made it very clear that I did not believe that to be a possibility.
Sorry if I worded it a bit too harsh, I did not mean to offend, but I just think that some stupid tweets should be better ignored rather than analysed. You know how the rumour mill works this days on the net.
fair do mate... I was just genuinely shocked that the press were implying frimpong was accusing the club of racism...with your history of black/non white and overseas players dating back to when I was a kid in the 70's I honestly didn't get it. As for twitter...I have no idea why anyone who is over 20 uses it...but then I am an old git!
I appear to have disliked your post...**** knows how but it was an accident ... I don't know how to undo it .... poxy new fangled compute machine things..... told you I was an old git!
It certainly sounds like he tweeted it in reaction to being asked why he wasn't in the team, which if correct is a ****ing stupid and ignorant thing to do, especially given that it's Arsenal we're talking about, who offer more chances to young, foreign and english players than most clubs. Give the lad a chance to explain himself first, but his track record does suggest that he's got a massive gob on him.
We hope there's some kind of misunderstanding regarding allegations of racism from Arsenal. I have been debating this particular topic for the last few day on other forum's & have found that there is a public perception of Emmanuel Frimpong that he has done much to contribute to that appears to overshadow any opinions that he may or may not have expressed. The thought that there may be favour shown to person's from specific demographs when it comes to team selection makes us feel non too comfortable, this questions the very ethics that some on this page, including myself, have come to celebrate. Certainly Arsenal as an institution is not above racism. It matters little, how many players from foreign backgrounds they may employ. Been a few days since this story surfaced, clarification in the matter from Emmanuel Frimpong & or Arsenal would be greatly appreciated.
While I get the spirit of what you are saying. Just because one idiot says something doesn't mean everyone has to clarify. I see this as an idiotic statement that warrants no response. "Arsenal as an institution is not above racism. It matters little, how many players from foreign backgrounds they may employ" while this can be true - you can't call it into question over one random tweet. You need more instances from others to make an accusation that the club would then have to respond to it. Not one random statement from a person who has a history of saying stupid things an has proven his mouth is bigger than whatever talent he possess.
@ Velachiperoo I am not a fan of Emmanuel Frimpong as a player & even less so as a Social Media personality. However, my personal dislike for anyone shouldn't be allowed to cloud my interpretation of their word's. We have all thrown in our penny's worth about what was tweeted, but, none of us is clearer on the matter. It is, of course the right of each of us to dismiss the matter. I feel this requires Frimpong & or Arsenal to clear it up, if not, it can & most likely will, be used to form the basis of attacks on the Club in the future.
If Arsenal dont want him then i woukdnt mind frimpong at manutd. He reminds me of a young patrick viera and i think he would form a great partnership with carrick. I don't think arsenal would make another mistake selling to us after the van persie transfer.
