    In my view, it was.

    There have been a multitude of fantastic goals scored by the Toon down throughout the years, from Phillipe Albert's glorious chip, to some 90mph Laurent Robert free-kicks, to Nolberto Solano's curler, and Shearer's thunderbolt volley.

    But is Ben Arfa's the best individual goal we have ever witnessed?

    Arguably, of course we can't account for 100 or so years of history and all the many goals lost to time...

    Ginola's against Ferencvaros was pretty special.

    The more I've seen it the better it gets, just noticing something different each time, like the extra touch to take it past one player about to get in a tackle, or the guy trying to trip him from behind at the beginning. I think Pardew has played it about right in the amount of time it has taken for him to come back, he's looking stronger now.

    Some of Beardsley's goals were just unbelievably good, literally unbelievable - in some cases I had to rewatch several times to understand how the **** he did it <laugh>. This HBA goal is the best Newcastle goal I've ever seen in well over a decade though.

    I'm not old enough to have seen Beardo at his prime and only gone by old footage, so this is probably the best Newcastle goal scored that I've seen at the time it actually happened.

    That one against Brighton from the mid 80s where he pulls off a supreme tackle just outside the area, then within about half a second gets back on his feet, turns and chips everybody in the box. You were at the match that day right? Just unreal.

    The best one I remember is when Ginola never let the ball touch the ground then volleyed it into the top corner. Think it was the UEFA Cup back when it was actually a prestigious tournament and meant something.

    <ok>

    Too true. I'm in the crowd of people too young to remember his younger days with us though unfortunately. He was my hero in the early 90s though!
