Morning all, was going to post last night but like one or two commented ,sleep on it and see how you feel in the morning. Well after a cracking nights sleep and with a clearer head I am afraid it was as bad if not worse than my first reaction last night. First of all let's make a point I am not having a go at what MON has achieved since December ,I am basing this on what it was a ONE OFF cup tie.One game away from a day out at wembley in a season when you know your safe from any relegation battle, so basically no worries just go out and give it your best, but at the very least give 100% on the pitch and come off with your head held high. So where do you start, Mig comes into no criticism stopped it from being completely embarrassing. The back 4 looked like they didn't know each other. You can see why Bridge and the Greek guy can't get a game at there parent clubs both awful and no doubt will not be hear next season. Bardsley I bought was poor by his high standards but I think he was let down by Larson and Turner just looked nervy all game (we know he is better than what he showed) The middle 4 were very ineffective as a unit, I thought Catts did alright , never stopped battling. Larson was very poor and if his deliverys aren't good he looks even worse ( as it was last night) McClean was a huge let down, never got in the game and Neville will never have an easier shift.Sess did alright but when you have to come that deep to get decent ball you are never going to be that effective. And Bendtner never got a sniff.Everton where very good from the start but We made it very easy for them, I still can't believe that we were that bad, the score line does not really show how dominant they were. A couple of questions, why replace a C/H with a midfield player and move your full back into C/H position when You have a ready made C/H on the bench. And what was the thing with our corners, and I don't mean the poor deliveries. Why did McClean stand next to Larson on every kick (and was hardley used) this lad is 6foot2 ish and strong as an ox , we know he can head a ball . Why wasn't he in the middle, standing out there he was effectively out of the game on every corner situation. Overall the team let the supporters and MON down. Where does this leave us for the rest of the season, I don't think we will get anything out of next 3 games, so it depends what the teams around us do as to where we will be in the league after these games.A top ten finish would still be excellent after where we were in December. but the hard work for MON must start now he will probably know now who he wants to keep and I would have thought he has a wish list already. I think the season will be flat from now on in, hope I am wrong but can't see it .
