Before I talk about the game Iâm in a delete mood, free speech is well and good but come on boys and girls, we have won 4-0, its been a good day so lets not spoil it by posting threads designed to provoke, its not the time and its not what fans should be doing. Now the game, be honest, did anyone see that coming? I heard the team and thought **** but credit to the team, they did the job and did it well. To me the man who stood out was Vaughan, he seemed to improve the other players just by being there. Is Bruce the man long term, are we now OK, will we win next week. All questions for another day for me, tonight I just want to enjoy.
On top of the world Syd. Just got in from doing some business in Italy & have seen the result. I"m about to text a couple of mates back home & ones from Liverpool. Oh the joy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am enjoying a total lush bottle of Saint E'Mellion. Well done to all the players and SB. Fantastic!!!!! Bart
Evening Syd and the Sunderland fans You may know that I'm staying in New***** _ T*** tonight with me family so, went to the SOL today. Syd, As a Stoke fan I did(Expect that...) but not by such an easy margin. For what it's worth I honestly don't know why some Mackem's are worried. Today, you outplayed, out classed and even out thought us. Yep, one goal was a tad lucky but when I saw our team was worried. And, a stone wall peno appeal foul by Huth on Bendtner I think it was? Delap, IMHO should NOT be anywhere near the first team add another couple to that and re place with Palacios/Whelan and Wilson in midfield. I would be happy enough. You hammered us simple as. T.P. keeps chopping and changing things and Ryan/Huth is our best pairing at C/H. IF you feel the need to wum fire away guys But, as bad as I thought Stoke were today, YOU played well and we didn't cope with your width and midfield totally outplayed us. That Sess... spelling is some player too Not here to make excuses cos there isn't one. GOOD LUCK for the season, I'm sure Tony P will realise his selection was way out today and we'll move on and get over this hammering. I read this board quite often, great banter on hear I must say and K T faith with Bruce, like Pulis he might not be perfect but, on todays showing, you have nowt to worry about. Great all round team performance by Sunderland well done. Up next Prem game for us erm only Utd Cheers fellas and, good luck for the rest... Pott's
No problem Syd Yes he did, and some great performance my MOTM? by a distance. All the new signings you made did really well.. A pity that ours didn't although Palacios did well enough, it was too little too late. p.s. know any good boozers in Newcaslte town centre off to get erm, well bladdered. TAXI! C ya later in the season, until then.. all the best.
Yes, agree fully. I was very impressed with the performance. In a way it was better than at Chelsea last year because we had to create the impetus and take the game to them. And how we did it! Absolutely everyone was on their game. Some passing phases and individual actions were top class. I don't know what Brucie said to them before the match but if he was asking for solidarity in the face of adversity, he certainly got it, from players and fans alike. It was great to watch. When the half-time whistle went and the crowd stood up as a man (and woman) to applaud the lads off, the hairs on the back off my neck stood up with them. For me there was no individual man of the match so as it's the manager who takes all the flack when the **** flies, I have to name Steve Bruce as man of the match for his selection, team talk and substitutions. More of that, please. PS It's St. Emilion, but to hell with how it's spelt, I wish I had a bottle of it in front of me now. A la tienne.
I thought Stoke never turned up today? Maybe it was Europe on Thursday which could be a worry for you guys. I didn't expect the lads to win today, but hats off they did very well. Stoke offered very little on the flanks, particualy their left flank. I thought Kenwyne looked dangerous when he came on. Don't you think he's better than Jerome? Thought your keeper had a bit of a mare too. I do however think Huth is the biggest cheat going. His stamp on our keeper was disgracful and he should have gone! By the way did you leave with the blow up doll?
I have been saying Catts Colbeck and sess are all to small to play together in the same team. Even though i rate them all they are not strong enough collectively. The man a lot of people have been calling for (Vaughan) changed the game today, i though him and gardner gave us something different. Elmo upped his game today that could be because he feels threatened for his place. Bendtner held the ball up well and i think once he scores he will only get better. Well done Bruce
That was both a result and a performance that has settled my nerves considerably. It showed that the players are 100 % behind the manager and played like they had a point to prove. Mind you, it has taken 5 games and lots of people saying it to change the midfield. Had we started the season with that team, who could tell where we would be? Vaughan was immense and pure quality. He was as good as a Paul Bracewell in his prime at the centre of the game. Dominated and dictated the play all afternoon and gave us the chance to see the real Craig Gardener too. Both were fantastic all day. I'm relieved and quite chuffed tonight.
Did anyone see that coming? Well, I did go for 4-2 so I was praying that we would score the fourth before they scored their two. Do you remember Sheffield Wednesday in the Keane promotion year? 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go and they score twice before we wrap it up at the end with a fourth? I didn't want to go through that again. But sooooooooooo happy to be slightly wrong about the result.
I'm relieved as well Cest but feel the old bladder ballooning up so may have to go again and I'm quite chuffed as well as being drunk as a monkey, happy days.
Yes, I think that was probably behind some of Pulis's changes. A Europa game and a 3,000 mile round trip three days ago must have taken something out of them. Love him or hate him, he's done well for Stoke.
