Where have I been for the past 5 months without knowing this story...

Lewis told his haters to F*** off on his twitter account and then deleted it lol. All after Vettel became WDC lol.

Sorry but thats an internet rookie mistake I would never do.<laugh>

I heard about that. I cant see why he would be so affected by idiots on Twitter though to come out with that. I would have just ignored them.

I heard about it but I do not really go on his twitter page, it is kind of cringeworthy.

Big mistake by Hamilton.

Firstly he rose to the bait - much like his fanboys on 606
Secondly he shouldnt use words like that given that he is a rode model to young kids

Other senior drivers have taken criticism for years and have kept themselves well managed in not replying to it.
I think he made a genuine mistake and in the future will probably ignore it, he is a fantastic driver and no-one can take that away from him.

True, but it is worth pointing out that other drivers are not subjected to the kind of abuse that Hamilton receives.

Well I can name one very obvious driver Genji, but you are right Hamilton is subject to all kinds of abuse and ****e quite a lot of the time.

Bigger the hate, bigger the PR department. Probably the first time his group allowed him to use twitter saying what he thinks and he did just that lol. This is why Seb doesn't bother reading crap like that.

Don't think he would care about the response lol

I was trying to say that the 606ers would NEVER stop talking about it even when he is 888

I'd think it would be brilliant.

Alonso: " All British fans are ugly and they don't follow F1 becuase of the sport but because of a driver who is only a product."

Can you imagine what would happen afterwards? Be a flipping war! yet he would still be Jesus in Spain.

I admit to being rather surprised at Hamilton over this 'moment of weakness', which, having been told of it within minutes of its publication, I was aware of and saw with my own eyes at the time.
- It was not what I'd expect from a consummate professional and was indeed a foolish reaction.

However, I'm sure he's moved on and learned from his mistake.

Alonso has done much worse IMHO

On the island of Porto Santo in Portugal, he publicly threatened to destroy the reputation and livelihood of the local tourist industry if he was disturbed by photographers

------------------------
‘To the first photographer or camera I see during these days, I will leave the next day, and I will tell the whole world that Porto Santo is a disaster.
Is that OK? Please, leave me alone. If you don’t tomorrow I will leave and everyone will know about Porto Santo – ok?’.

That attitude upset the Portuguese press who have described Alonso’s words as blackmail.
-----------------

Now reacting to personal insult is one thing

But to pre meditatively threaten to ruin a whole town is not really setting a good example unless of course it's Italy and you are a mafia boss

And let's not forget Alonsos inflammatory hand gestures at the crowd at Silverstone last year

Oh, and what of the fist waving at poor Petrov who dared beat him in a race? Great example of sportsmanship for kids?

As far as Lewis though, it's shocking to use the f word,

I'm sure most of the posters hurling abuse at him had never heard that word before <laugh>

Wasn't Alonso also caught waving to the crowd at a British GP and mouthing 'go home'!?

TBH the more exposed to him we are the more we see him for who he is. I'm not surprised to be honest, I get the impression he's the 'do you know who I am?' type.

Who cares if people have the odd indescretion. They are human aren't they?

It's becuase of the nanny state, PR concious, corporate sponsor led sport/world etc we live in that you'r enot allowed to say what you think anymore. For everyone who harps on about 'role models', why should sports stars have to be role models all the time? What happened to parenting?
