Manchester United have warned fans that if they do not buy a ticket for their FA Cup replay with Cambridge United they will have their season tickets suspended.

The club have written to those who have not yet paid out for the televised fourth-round clash with the League Two side and told them that if they do not do so they will not be allowed entry to their Premier League home fixture against Sunderland.

United operate a system in which season card holders agree to buy additional tickets for cup matches - although there are opt outs for Capital One Cup games and under 16s can opt out of FA Cup matches.

Would like to hear terrys view on this as a season ticket holder (i presume ) seems like blackmail but good news for cambridge money wise ,its like the good and the bad about the big and little clubs .

I posted somewhere they will get £1.5m from this return leg, enough to keep them going without any further input for 5 years

Sure they did this last season against Wigan or something. Not sure though. See I'd expect Sunderland to say "buy one get one cheap" sort of thing. Ie go against the lower league then get a ticket for a fiver for the home game with QPR

This hasn't happened to me. I have two that my work pay for, nobody has written to me to say anything of the sort, not even seen anybody complaining about this on Facebook and loads of my mates are SC holders.

If anybody is stupid enough to enter into a contract with their SC with such a clause in it then they deserve everything they get.

I know mate, it's all good.

I dunno how I'd feed, I'd probably feel stupid, let down, unimportant.

I'm not receiving great value for money anyway, well my company aren't, what's been put in front of us this year has been uninspiring, so being 'banned' would probably end up being a blessing anyhow.

I guess if this is true they'd have got a discounted rate in their SC as part of the 'deal'.

Another case of big and small me thinks ,utd know with a waiting list they can do much as they like ,a smaller club have to tender to the season ticket holders and others who patronise their club and often go the extra mile on a shoestring to give back to the supports all be it vouchers or a free bus now and again ,i dunno terry to me the whole caboodle is shagged ,like a lot of things you dont know what you have got until its gone ,its a bit like the red indians and the abos whose land has been taken and all be it is just history now. get the wagons in a circle here come the fa and sky
