The Magpies could not steal the prize When they circled around our nest, And I´d say in most peoples´s eyes We deserved what we got from this test With our diamond once again on view We sparkled in every respect, And though they did what they could do Those Magpies felt the full effect With Holt making his presence felt Their patched up defence couldn´t cope, That well, with the cards that we dealt And were sometimes left without much hope But our own defence once again Was generous at this Christmas time, And Mr. Ba, of their front men Wasn´t sheepish to force over the line So with both attacks really on song No surprise that we had goals galore, And thankful that we were just strong Enough on the day to score four And full points in this game just show How far we have come as a team, And though it´s too early to crow We edging closer to our dream.
