Diame's injury needing an op might be great for us in the long term. If (when) we go down it's highly unlikely a team will buy him injured. In the Championship he would surely be the best midfielder by an absolute mile.
That crossed my mind in the week when it was announced he was laid up. Fingers crossed that, if we do go down, he's here & fit in September.
Same goes for Snodgrass, in the Championship he was superb. This is all ifs and buts though. Neither may want to stick around. In fact the chances of both staying I'd say are slim.
I'm a huge fan of Diame's but I'd have question marks over his desire in the Championship. No doubt he saw us as a stepping stone to be at a top 6-8 club within a couple of seasons, suspect he won't be best pleased about playing in the second tier.
I don't think Diame gives a ****. He didn't at West Ham, why would he now? I have no evidence, but I think he threw the towel in months ago and decided he was done.
Not sure why this 'rumour', if it can be called that, seems to be doing the rounds? He had a nasty injury, which has flared up more than once and is having to have another operation. Don't know how that can be called throwing in the towel.
He's a decent player who's made of glass. That means we'll probably sign him should we stay up. We've a habit of signing crocks.
I didn't even know it was a rumour doing the rounds, it's just a suspicion I've had for a while and I'm sticking to it.
Possibly. I have my doubts about Curtis Davies's injury too. I think he fell out of favour and sulked. Neither will play for City again because neither have the desire.
Out of the players would could lose - I hope we keep Robertson and Brady - imagine those two tearing down the wing in the Championship?
Towing the club line then I was told by someone inside the club 4 months ago we wouldn't see him this season It may also be worse than that and might be a threat to playing again
