http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/sunderland-want-mohamed-diame-the-free-854503 Thoughts on where he will fit into midfield, at whose expense and how does this reflect the type of team MON will build. I think he will play alongside Cattermole, at Gardner's expense, he would be a solid, physical presence in any midfield and comes up with the odd cracking goal too! Bring him in, an improvement to the squad if not the 'attacking craftsman' we were looking for. A midfield 4 of Johnson, Catts, Diame and McClean would be good.
I would expect two or three 'frees' and maybe one or two modest fee signings .... unless of course money is freed up by some major sales... But there's not much money around outside of the top five.
Yeah its on FB he is in Sunderland within the next 48hrs. I would have him, he can score screamers, has an engine and still young - also he is TALL which is what we have lacked. How would you feel of a midfield and front 3 of this: ....................Catts................ ..........Diame..........Colback...... McClean......................Johnson .................Fletcher................. IMO I think that already looks better than the midfield we have now. A 4-3-3 that would work. Obviously this is all rumours..
Yes, I can see Diame coming here, the one that would surprise me the most is Johnson ...it's all about money, we can offer Diame a decent pay package, relative to what he's getting now and the other, we cannot. Fantastic player and a great potential improvement imo
I think with alot of City cast-offs, Citeh will have to subsidize their wages for a few years... They've created a monster with outrageous pay packets, that no other clubs apart from the top clubs in the world can afford. Subsidization is the only way that City can get rid of their players, and other clubs can buy them.
Confusing is the word I would use, if Catts is being offered a new deal, MON is on record about his admiration for Colback so that's 3 into two unless he sees Jack as the answer to LB. Of course he could buck his norm and rotate but he never has in the past, I don't think anyway.
hope this is true, the thought of him and Colback in centre mid is giving me a semi on, although its only according to the mirror
I read he's due to speak to several clubs from the premier league. Including Arsenal and Spurs.......
Hope we get this lad he's a fantastic player but I hope he is Colback's partner not replacement. An agent was talking a couple of weeks back about a champions league team having Colback on there wishlist for the summer. If we did get this lad I would see him as a replacement for Catts who is a decent offer comes in I would sell
