Sunderland centre-back Mo Diakite will have a medical ahead of a proposed loan move to Fiorentina, Sky sources understand. The Frenchman joined on a free transfer from Serie A club Lazio over the summer but has played just eight times for Sunderland. His last outing came in the 1-0 FA Cup win over Kidderminster on Saturday and that may prove to be his last, for this campaign at least. Fiorentina have already raided the Premier League for players during the current transfer window after taking Manchester United midfielder Anderson on loan.
