I know we have all kind of problems and maybe this one is not one of the biggest. After one and the half match i have seen Diakate playing in EPL im certain he is a "timebomb" on the field. He could do many fine things on the pitch and then in a second he could turn to hazardous player who loose the ball in a easy situation and after that he's goin on and tackling so late that referee have his hand on the yellow card all the time. Don't get me wrong but this not the time to learn premier league football. He could develope a new Faurlin but that is in the future.
This is the problem we have suffered twice this season. We start the season with basically the team from last year, then at the last gasp of the transfer window add a few players. So they take time to settle in. Come Christmas and the manager is sacked and in comes another with a totally different way of doing things ... and more new players. Takes time for everyone to adjust to Hughes' way of doing things and the new players. Suspensions, injuries and ACON haven't helped either. Sadly, the new QPR team with be bedded in and raring to go in a few weeks ... when it is far, far too late. Most other teams have made a few changes but still have the core of teams they had last year and/or the same manager. Can't be expected to be in any other situation than we are now.
He looks a talent but raw. His rash tackles and attempts to dribble the ball out of our box surrounded by six or seven opposing players is highly risky. He needs firm management, but we haven't got the time this season. I can see another red card coming, if he doesn't wise up fast
He seems to carry a threat going forward but his tackling is bordering on the farcical. He can no doubt develop but in our cirrent situation is does make me wonder whether Mackie could do a better job of the in this position.
Think he looked really good broke up play well, quick at breaking forward. people seem to forget he has played 1 and a bit games and needs time to learn the pace of the league. and least he is getting stuck in and putting him self about maybe Barton should take note. Even people knocking Zamora seriously he has played 5 scored 2. cissie and zamora have played twice with each other and have linked up well and in them 2 games have both scored a goal each. And they will get more goals that's for sure.
I think that Diakate will prove to be a very good player once he has settled in to the pace of English football
Bang on Eamon and well worded, my worry is this could have long term repercussions as it looks now it is very unlikely we will stay up and then yet another upheaval of new players manager etc, etc..... And players who people expect to be there next season i.e. Mackie & Hill have shown their worth and will be snapped up by new premier league clubs as squad players. What then?
I like him, a couple of rough edges to be knocked off, but very positive, full of energy. Hope we keep him.
One of our best players on Saturday I thought. I like the look of him. Very strong on the ball and looks to move forward quickly. Funny how different peoples view of a player can be.
Yes, but does he? If he continues like he did the next red card is not many minutes away. Then it does not help if he is "strong with the ball" or "full of energy"etc.......
Very true my fair haired friend. He's like a puppy running chasing flies at the moment but give him time and he'll be a top Championship player next season.
First half he looked good, always keen to get the ball and move forward (something we were v.poor at in the second half as we drove ourselves back into our half!!!). His tackling is very suspect; could be a matter of the game being too quick for him right now, but he does have definite promise. Another rough diamond? Maybe. We'll know by the end of the season, I'm sure.
Most people keep on saying how hes going to be a top championship player next year, but sadly we ain't going to find out, when we signed him the loan deal was done on hes part so he could leave if we went down!
