Looks like Di Matteo has been relieved of his duties at Schalke. They finished 6th.

Would you take him? More or less than some of those already mentioned? McClaren / Moyes...

I'd take him over McLaren and Carver, perhaps not moyes. Matteo is alright, but he hardly set the world alight with WBA and Shalke, yeah he won stuff with Chelsea, but i dont deem that as the hardest task in the world

No. He's a very defensive coach which is the main reason Schalke ditched him.

He got incredibly lucky to firstly be given the Chelsea job and secondly win the champions league,

Definite no from me. I just cannot see a positive resolution. Carver will get the job. Charnley cannot make sensible decisions, he's a brainless nobody. He will mistake the end of season relief for acceptance all is well. All I read are Carver soundbytes and the usual blank silence from the club.

I can't see Carver getting the job! I dont tend to believe what Ashley said in his interview about progressing, but if he does mean it and he wants to get the fans onside, the philosphies have to change. If the philosphy was to stay in the league on the cheapest budget, they might risk it with carver, but if they want to progress, the budget might reflect this and better candidates may be available.

Personally I think Penfold will be gone. His made alot of decisions since january and ultimatley this has affected ST order, Tv Money, Muchandise sales, negative media, I am off the opinion Penfold has severely under achieved, even by Ashleys standards and I reckon Derek might be back

I see a particularly trashy tabloid newspaper [named after that thing in the sky that's about as rare as a Mike Ashley spending spree] has linked us with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Now, I know he's done a fantastic job at Burton, but if true then really?

I know I'm always harping on about the things our fans slated Pardew for, but Matteo, really? If you thought Pardew was too cautious you'd have your eyes opened with Matteo. It's like people wanting Laudrup. They say Pardew is a one season wonder everywhere he goes. :Laudrup has done well in his first season everywhere (though not matching Pardew's league positions) but he has struggled at every single club from his second season onwards.

Bollocks I would love it, love it if we back for a third one.

Its like that lass you had one fantastical drunken night of sex with. You know you should leave it because you'll only ruin the memory of how wonderfully filthy it was, but then you hit the shorts and you decide to try to recreate the moment. Its then not as good and you wake up feeling a little disappointed in yourself for going back.

Or you are like Obi and you cry all night after not being able to locate your penis anymore due to massive weight gain.

I would have been very happy with him, but think he's picked very wisely. Of what's,available, Remy Garde for me in a statement of intent.

Not for me. I would take Moyes any day of the week.
I cant see Ashley keeping Carver I really cannot.

I also thought his comments re ensuring this does not happen again are genuine. Its very rare he does interviews, so why would he do it and spout a load of lies (unless he really thinks it would sell season tickets, which clearly it wont). A lot of fans are holding their breath about signings etc and so am I.

He made it very clear who is making the decisions at the club (he stated Charnley and the board of directors) and that Ashleys role is purely financial support. For any top manager the job would still be attractive in my mind....

    Ancelotti anyone?

Personally don't understand how Charnley keeps the job. Worst statement the club could make for me and seemingly no intention to change the board or setup at the top.
