Seems as though Chris Martin has been FOUND OUT by Paolo Di Canio! What effect do you think this will have on him?

I doubt it will have much effect on him at all (assuming you meant CM and not DC). He did well in L1 for sure but other than that he has never shone through for us and I think he may have become lazy without regular 1st team action. He needs to be in the mood to perform to his ability and I have the feeling he frankly just doesn't care anymore. His career, such as it, is not going to amount to much.

Loan him out to Ipswich, should fit in well there <laugh>

I was completely bafflled why PL put him in his starting 11 for a few games at the beginning last season. I would agree that he has the talent, but totally lacks the motivation to put it to any use.

Agree with the above, talented, but not quite as talented as he thinks he is, and íf he doesn´t soon start to get his attitude right, I fear he´s for the scrap heap. Talent is worth nothing without the right work ethic.

surprised he's not getting on well there - it's early days. He could end up in the Conference next season if things don't go well.
Does anybody know when his contract ends?

From wiki - "The striker signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with the Club in January 2010"

    I make that next summer!!!

And to think that I got slated on here the 3 times I called him a waste of space!! Little talent, little skill, no pace, a problem for very Manager he has come across, terrible attitude and a propensity to find trouble off the field. What a star!!!

Few people have the chance or talent that he has had, so why waste it?

if you did get slated it will be because he DOES have talent - and that is precisely why it is so disappointing to see him not fulfilling that talent <ok>

We will have to disagree on that point Supers as apart from a couple of goals in Div1 I haven't seen much talent on display. Talking of strikers with a big reputation - what is the position with Harry Kane?

i'm sorry but his natural talent is undoubted, it really is. unfortunately you often get talented people who don't appreciate what they've got until its gone and martin looks to be yet another of those people. in my opinion his poor attitude and lack of pace was always going to stop him becoming a premier league player but his touch and technique are better than many premier league players and i'm ashamed to say, some of the current england squad. he really should be a decent championship footballer at worst but i'm starting to get the feeling that he will find it very difficult to get a contract in even league one football unless he doesn't pull his socks up.

no idea how kane is coming along - we've not heard any updates for a while but general feeling at the time of the injury was that it would be christmas before he was back in contention (whether that was contention for a starting place or back in training i cannot remember - sorry) <ok>

I agree he has talent and when in the right frame of mind can make up for lack of pace with sharp thinking. If he'd train harder he could also instill a wee bit more Pace which would mean operating at the top end of the championship and probably able to do a decent job in pl. He pisses me off cos he's about to feck up the opportunity that most never get. Stupid fecking bolox that he is

this is right. sadly, he is only in the right frame of mind every twenty-odd games (or so it seems)

Think the guy has proved he has talent after the League 1 season.

Big waste and it's his fault, I wonder whether the League 1 season went to his head a bit, definitely got lazy after that season. He is a decent finisher and can be intelligent in build up play but I think his time with Norwich at least is over.

His T&T is very good, very rarely mis-hit his shots, but he's not good enough to cover his inate lack of pace at the highest level.

I've always stuck up for him in the past, like Morison I don't think he's lazy, he's just very slow.

However, he is hopelessly overweight though and for someone that slow he's not doing himself any favours by bulking up.
