For most of us, our target for this season [back in August] was to stay up.

As this season draws to a close, what, at this point, is your realistic target for Pompey next season?

That all depends on what sort of team we have next season, and, also, who paid for it.
    Play offs maybe?

My aim for Pompey has alwalys been a slower steady rebuild. I dont want us to go back up to the Premier League after a season or two because I think all that would happen is we would be following the Redknapp-mold again of buying players, investing in the team but doing nothing to invest in the club itself - and obviously I dont want Pompey to be relegated. It is, in my opinion, in Portsmouth's best interest to spend the next five or six season looking only for mid-table security while investing in the training facilities, youth academy and stadium. I dont expect things to be completed after those five or six seasons but the foundations should be laid and then we could look to push on to be promotion challengers and maybe eventually become a WBA like team that bounces between the Championship to Premier League every other season.

So my aim for next season is the same as this season - safe mid-table finish.

As long as our two nearest neighbours don't finish higher or take any points from us so bragging rights remain would be my first target

IF we get some investment for Cotterill to BUY players so a team can be built and not bodged together anything between 7th and 10th would be very nice thank you. But stability has got to be the priority.

Agree - safety again the priority next season, plus (hopefully) the double over the Saints !

Less off the pitch headlines and more on the pitch highlights.

So what you're saying is, that so long as we finish above Southampton and Brighton, you'll be delighted to finish 21st <whistle>
