    I'm a bit late with today's thought - I've been very busy!

Do you agree with Gael Clichy, that Man City will be serious title contenders this season?

They'll be contenders, along with Liverpool and Arsenal, but I don't think they'll win it - Man U or Chelski again..

Either Manchester United or Manchester City as potential winners for me <ok>

Chelsea haven't bought anyone apart from an unknown goalkeeper to add to their ageing squad, and with Essien injured- what chance do they have???

Liverpool have spent big, but for me the main aim for them is to reach the Champions League after being absent from the competition for a few years, and for the new faces to get to know eachother, and for 1 season of practicing the Carroll - Suarez partnership up front, with Stewart Downing behind.

Arsenal for me are not gonna win anything while they have Arsene Wenger as manager again !! So far, apart from the addition of Gervinho, they have signed no- one and have sold one of their three best players- Gael Clichy to Manchester City. This means their already leaky and error- prone defense is now all but inexperienced and seriously lacking in quality. With IMO either Nasri or Fabregas departing before the start of the season, their best aim is to do exactly as they did last season, and secure 4th spot, and Champions League Qualification. The loss of Clichy is immense, not only because of their defense, but because he was the only member left from the "Invincibles" of 2004 where they went all season without losing a game, this loss is irreplaceable.

Manchester United and Manchester City have spent money on the Premier League's more experienced and popular players, as well as a few youngsters. This mix is a winning formula, and as they both won silverware last season I can only see them both as proper title- contenders.

As for us- Steve Cotterill has made some excellent moves by removing "dead wood" in Brown, Hughes, Webber and youngsters who have not worked out, i.e ciftci and kilbey. Their replacements are much better in quality, or are more experienced, therfore we should at least finish higher than we did last season, and continue our rebuilding process !!

    PUP <ok>

I think Man Utd or Liverpool for go for top spot. Arsenal is finished I reckon, but Chelsea and Man City are within a good shout.
Another thing which I noticed is that big clubs seem to spending alot on english players this summer as well as last winter!

I don't think so, they're too inconsistent, a bit like Arsenal.
