Would it be a good thing for snooker (ie popularity) if Snooker-Plus was re-introduced and a televised tournament shown?
Morning Dev. I have to admit that snooker plus was unknown to me, so I wikied it. It looks very interesting, but I have the feeling that the safety element of the game would be lost, to a certain extent, due to two more balls being in play, either side of the blue. Also I don't think the position of the purple would lead to it featuring much in break building. Having said all that I'd like to see some top pros giving it a try though.
I was thinking that maybe the BBC or Sky could run a "Pot Black" [Pot Purple? ] type competition for the over 50s, with the likes of Steve Davis, Dennis Taylor, John Virgo etc taking part.
I dont think Snooker-Plus should be considered, because as mentioned, it would defeat the safety player......... ......but I do think the shot time limit should be bought in - at least I could watch Peter Ebdon and Ken Doherty without wanted to punch the TV!
I enjoyed the time limit, T20 style, tourney the had on sky recently. Pot Purple I missed/miscued that one!
