Devo, I have spent some time (well about 3 minutes) investigating this matter, and can report the following startling information:- There are a total of 8 "G. Bennetts" in my copy of the Portsmouth BT directory (+ one Graham Bennett). There are a total of 4 "G. Bennetts" in the latest I.O.W. BT directory. **BUT** There are a grand total of 3,874 "G. Bennetts" (of which 2,245 are Gordons) in the Southampton BT directory. Conclusive evidence that whilst driving or walking through that city, all you can hear is the sound of the locals and visitors alike, all shouting out the expression 'GORDON BENNETT !!' to anyone they meet. How many inhabitants of Cyprus are known as Gordon Bennettopolous, Devo ?!
