The next cricket world cup is to be reduced to 10 sides, with only full ICC members taking part - ie no Ireland, Netherlands etc. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/12964294.stm Devo's thought is that this is crazy. What are your thoughts?
That will make it a bit 'elite' to my mind. How will any other nation ever be able to "join the club", compete at this level, and improve their standing in the world of cricket ?! Very unfair.
I think the ICC have looked at the recent tourney attendances and overreacted. Do they not realise that Indian fans, as much as they love cricket, save their rupees only for matches involving India? What are the countries affected by this to aspire to now? And beyond them emerging countries like the USA, Croatia and even Brazil! They may just give up thanks to this.
