Trivia Question: In 1980, while Pompey were being promoted from the Fourth Division, Rochdale finished bottom for the 2nd time in three seasons. They survived re-election by the skin of their teeth, beating which side by just one vote?
2-1 to Pompey, with an attendance of say 15,202. As long as we have signed a new goalie, albeit for a month, or recalled Phil Smith in place of 'Coco the Clown'. PUP whatever happens
The first 15 minutes and last half hour could be crucial in this game. Rochdale have scored 6 of their 13 goals in the first 15 minutes, at a time when Pompey have conceded only once. Pompey have conceded 11 of their 18 against in the last 30 minutes (scoring only twice), a time where Rochdale only found the net once. Also the last 15 minutes of the first half could be a deciding factor for Pompey, who have scored and conceded 5 in this window.
Lot's of Avatar changing, huwah ha ha, they don't like it up 'em! I'll change too maybe good luck for us.
For me............setting aside any new signings this week.....the 11 players who pull on the pompey shirt need to put in a shift....regardless of the result its effort we wan to see........of course we want the win....but we need to see commitment and hard work. Having seen the terrible second half at FP last time against fleetwood who really offered nothing in offence, it was our poor play of hoofing to big pat who was out jumped and out played all day, we need to get the ball down, keep possession and play to our strengths, we have some good players in that squad and our results DO reflect our play, lacklustre and woeful..............! PUP for a home win.....
Even with new players in the team, I just can't see us turning it around tomorrow - or am I just getting used to this?
I think result aside.....and although I optimistically want the win, cant see it, just want a good solid performance and hard work! PUP
If Pompey win 5-0 will we all come on here and say our previous comments were "mockers avoiding comments" which have worked as planned? Probably
Wholesale changes to the team today. Sullivan isn't even on the bench today, nor is Connolly or Danny East. Carson & Thery Racon get their starts today.
Half time 1-0 If goalkeeper is reliable then there may not be an equaliser. Rochdale out early - I bet Hills is not happy, they're marking Agyemang but the goal came from elsewhere. So far so good.
2-0 up. All we have to do now is get a third and not concede before 88 minutes and we mighty just hang on!
