It's my intention to do this in alphabetical order, so Bradford better bloody win the play-off final <laugh>

Don't forget the trivia Question from the Acrington 411 - no-one's answered it yet.

    -------

    Team: Bristol Rovers

    Joined the Football League: 1920

    Honours:
3rd Tier [League One] winners 1990, runners up 1974; Third Division South winners 1953
    4th Tier [League Two] play-off winners 2007
Football League Trophy [Paint Pot] runners up 1990, 2007

    Highest League Finish:
    6th in Second Division [Championship] 1956 & 1959

    Last League meeting with Pompey:
10 April 1993, Division One [Championship]
    Bristol Rovers 1-2 Pompey

    Last season’s average home attendance:
    6,309

    Last 5 seasons:
    2013: 14th in League Two
    2012: 13th in League Two
    2011: 22nd in League One
    2010: 11th in League One
    2009: 11th in League One

Factoid: Southampton famously won the FA Cup in 1976, as a Second Division [Championship] side, but were knocked out of the League Cup at the first hurdle in Round Two – by Bristol Rovers

    Trivia Question:
When Bristol Rovers won the Third Division title in 1990, who were the runners up?

Bristol City finished second that year - don't ask me how I know this - but I am sure I gave it as a pub quiz question many moons ago!

    Bristol Rovers eh ?

Isn't that where the Piemaster came from when he joined our friends down the road ?

He's never looked back.............................mainly because he has difficulty in turning his head due to the overwhelming size of his girth

Did anyone go to Twerton Park while Rovers played there? I saw Pompey win with 10 men there once. Fatty Aspinall got himself sent off and we had every slice of luck go our way that day.
