Having thought carefully about this post(took ages) from what i have read on various forums recently the derision on Hughes has grown and grown but it's another part of this that concerns me more.I have seen more and more fans jumping on every post from TF and attacking him and calling him various derogatory names. Do these people seriously think that is pro-active?? I have posted my thoughts about his tenure so far and sometimes been rightly in my view harsh on him but would never abuse him on a personal level. I voiced my opinion to him on twitter about the appointment of Hughes but would,t dream of like one so called fan said and i quote"stay the f**k away from Loftus Road until Hughes is gone you c**t.I'm not easliy shocked but i actually had to read that twice before the sheer stupidity of it sank in. Yet again the phrase "short memories" comes into play here as would they like to back 2 or so short years?.We asked for a chairman that respects us fans and we got one,we also asked for a more publicly accessible chairman and we also got that. Maybe Tony is too accessible but that is not an open invite for a "duck shoot" in my opinion and frankly makes me wonder if some fans only have one agenda. This saturday is make or break for Hughes but from what i have heard it's as good as "goodnight from him" to quote the two Ronnies.
I don't think it is right to abuse Fernandes but I can also understand the fans frustration. It is clear to everybody that we must win this Saturday or Hughes is gone. Fernandes is not stupid. He will be the first to realise this and I am sure he will act straight away if the match goes against us.
The fans sing TFs name at the game, I dont think Ive heard Hughes name sung once. More and more fans will turn against TF the long he keeps Hughes on. I dont agree with it but thats what will happen.
We must get behind the lads from the off. If they sense any unrest in the crowd, it will not help them. What's the point of singing, "sing your hearts out for the lads" if we don't do exactly that through thick or thin. I am expecting loud and raucous suport from all our bits of the ground on Saturday. T minus 47.5 hours and counting! COYRsssssss!!!!!!!!
I don't think TF has put a foot wrong. He had to give MH every chance and it's still comparatively early in the season. If we win on Sat, fine. If we lose, TF will be under immense pressure to get rid of MH and I think he will. If we draw...then I think it will go on beyond ManU - assuming we get nothing off them - to Sunderland and possibly Aston Villa, and we're then into December So a draw is worst of all worlds for me
Appointing Hughes and chucking people out of the lower loft because they didnt have a kid. The whole lower loft situation is a mess where people cant buy a ticket because they havent got a kid.
I think the Hughes thing is hindsight. We beat Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal under Hughes last season and stayed up. I don't think anyone can rationally blame TF for what has happened this season. TF had to give the guy a chance - I don't want to go back to the hire and fire debacle under Briatore. Lower Loft - don't know the background or rationale for changing the rules here, so can't comment, but even if it needs sorting, it's not a hanging offence imo
And let's not forget that this season we were the only team to take a point off Chelsea until not long ago and lost to Arsenal by a goal that should never have been. Bring on Liverpool and whoever (once we get into wining ways!!). If Hughes does go, I think he has had a lifetime's worth of bad luck in his tenure at LR. Feel sorry for the guy.
I said it was wrong at the time but he was new at owning football clubs so thats fair enough. The club moved out people from the LL if they didnt have a kid, people have sat there for 10 years and had to go somewhere else which is very harsh. Especially if they made friends over the years. Still, thats not a lot wrong considering how many right things hes done. Im just saying things havent been perfect.
Whatever your thoughts on Hughes it is hard to deny that the sequence of results is extraordinary and even a small amount of good fortune would have seen us in among the pack rather than adrift at the bottom. That would still mask some basic problems however and I can find no way of ignoring his apparent schoolboy approach to player acquisition in the summer that has left us with twice as many top class midfielders than we can use, a £50k a week goalkeeper sitting on the bench but no decent centre backs and a lack of firepower up front. No bad luck there as he had all summer to get it right and for that reason alone his future must be in serious doubt.
Yep, good balanced view there QPAAAAAAGH. I am not pro Hughes or against him. I just want my team to do well!! I suppose people / teams do make their own luck to some degree and if MH had sorted the defence better we might be better off than we are now. Having said that, he did get Fabio in who I thought looked well up for it. I don't know if he tried for Samba again in the summer.
Unfortunately, there are some idiots among us. On a site like this, only supporters who want to come back again and again because they have something to say or have a genuine interest in listening to others come here. I ended up leaving the QPR supporters Facebook page as there were too many complete idiots and fools there who would embarrass me as a QPR supporter. It's easy for any numbnuts to post a random brain fart on there. On here, we're a bit more sophisticated
I would imagine Facebook attracts the younger fans whereas, as we found out a few weeks back on a thread, that most of us on here are middle aged.
Frankly, a comment such as this tells you more about the author than the target of his constructive piece of... er, literature.
I steer completely clear of all social media sites and I always will. The way Lord McAlpine is going after twitter users is another example of how this new phenomena is not such a great idea imo.
I completely agree, Col. I keep telling Uber Minor and his siblings to be careful what junk they post on Facebook (thankfully they don't Tweet... yet). This stuff will be around for the rest of their lives and could well damage their reputations in the future. In the days when Friends Reunited was popular, I used to look up interview candidates before their job interview with me. It never ceased to amaze me the extent of the idiotic crap and personal stuff that individuals so freely revealed about themselves. I cancelled many an interview on the strength of offensive biographies about themselves, public admissions of drug-taking and proud boasts of how often they drank until they passed out. And all this stuff is still on there... forever!
