A big season coming up and a few experienced signings needed.

On the flip side, it's good to see MM isn't neglecting the development squad and below. He made a few signings of younger players last season including Coulson and Rhys Healey where he thought he was short of quality. I think that helps the overall structure as you don't want one or two players streets ahead of the rest as if there is padding in the youth team it doesn't help the better players develop.

Dick Bate was a big name signing with a lot of contacts and plenty of experience. It certainly looks as if he is building for the future.

This will be of value whatever division we are in, but if we can stay in the Prem it will help keep and attract youth to the development programme. It's another reason I feel MM will be with us for a while as it isn't just about the first team and the now, but also about the future.

    Good post, Remote.

I think it will take a top team to get Malky.

Will the younger element of the development team now be called Bate's masters?
    Childish I know, but I couldn't resist.
