Looking at the last 11 seasons back to 2009/10, the average number of games lost by the champions of league 1 is 6.5, runners up 9! We've lost 5 league matches to date, suggesting if the trend continues we would lose 14 matches over the season, that's likely to mean no auto-promotion. We're certainly not steamrolling any teams, it's a competitive league, a lack of cutting edge has cost us points so far, and if the defence which we'd come to rely on starts to leak goals again, I'm of the view that it's play offs at best with Terry in charge. Add the KLP (who is the clubs most natural goal scorer) scenario into the mix, and I'm really hoping the wheels don't fall off again.
Even with 92 points we'd have missed out on auto promotion in half of the seasons since 2009/10 Use of selective stats can be used to support any argument Hope we stay where we are, top!
Not if we maintain our recent 5 game rate of return. It'll accrue approx 75 points by season's end. Stats eh!
