Hello Peeps, after a week in Cyprus I have had the usual rollercoaster supplied by the R's. Sunday was a funny old day, watched the match in a bar at Coral Bay and the place was full of United fans giving it the usual, strangely most of them had Brummie accents which was a bit surreal. When Young did his pirouette and Derry got the red card I was tempted to make an early exit myself. The speed that tosser Mason brought out the red card was unreal. That said, even the United fans were embarrassed by it and our performance left me pissed off with the result but proud we stood up to them the way we did, there's an element of backbone appearing in the team at just the right time now. I was looking forward to last night's game until our flight was delayed and getting back to Gatwick at 7.30 left no chance of getting home in time for the game. But what a performance! A 3-0 win against an admittedly poor Swansea team is just the tonic at such a vital time. We now seem to have a settled defence which is the key to getting results and tactically we now seem to have a game-plan for each opposition. Goal difference, which could be the deciding factor is getting better and Saturday's match could be a massive step to safety if we can take three points. With Wigan winning last night it really is getting to be a scramble for points, I thought 33 would be enough a couple of weeks ago but now 37 may not be enough. It's going down to the wire but at least we're showing some real fight. I really think we can do Albion on Saturday, they're stuttering a bit so we could be getting them at just the right time. C'mon you Rrrrrrs!...
Totally unacceptable. Your team is at a pivotal point in its battle for surival and you're off sunning yourself. Do you think the air crews flew off to Benidorm when the Battle of Britain was about to start? Do you think Nelson allowed his gun crews out on deck with their factor 30 when Trafalgar was kicking off? No more excuses Sooper.
Totally agree with you AAAGH, we need all hands to the pump. Nobody is allowed any hols until our survival is guaranteed.
I know ... I was due to go to Spurs but during my dark Frank Jesus period and our ****e form I agreed to a long weekend in Cyprus myself off week Friday ... Hope i can find a good bar? My first time there and Brummies watching football has pissed on my vacance ... I have been told it wonderful by her indoors parents ... Not many places compare to France IMO
Very friendly people there, you won't find the elegance of the French but the hospitality is second to none...
There should be no problem finding a bar showing the game Justin but how will you find your soul again now that you have turned away from the light? May the spirits of Mike Keen and Mick Leach turn your beer sour while on that heathen isle.
i am off to a villa place near a massive nature reserve .. no idea where but i wish i was at LR on Sat 21st as I can honestly seeing us beating Spurs now
It's probably the best of the resorts with a nice harbour and not totally commercialised. The airport is not too far away which helps. A lot of hotels have private beaches and the quality is usually high. July will be very warm so you should be ok...
Cheers Sooper, I'll look forward to that. I'm staying at the Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel which looks nice.
999, i'm heading to Paphos in Mid may for a few weeks with the family. Will give you all the details when i return.
