Reading through the managers past and present thread got mr thinking just what would make up the perfect SAFC manager. Taking all the best bits from managers past or present. What would be included in the critetia? Player recruitment. Player man management. Tactics/formations and the ability to change them in a game. Player fitness levels. Media presentability (is that even a word)? Respectability? Able to attract players through previous sucesses. Anymore? For starters. I.ll go PDC. Just for his philosophy on fitness.
Peter Reid for his style of man management . He came from the school of hard knocks and, unfortunately, wouldn't fit in with the egotistical millionaire mentality of this generation of footballers
So. So far we have Monkey heed for man management and PDC for fitness. Who would you say has been the highest profile manager?
Mick Mc for media presentation - loved listening to his no nonsense assessments both as our manager and as a pundit.
Ferguson for discipline. No ****ing player power there. If they got ideas above their station, he ****ed them off, no matter how good they were.
Yep good call. But i bet O.Neil also had good contacts. But DA net has been cast through many counties.
