Skysports.com understands Crystal Palace are eyeing a move to lure QPR midfielder Shaun Derry back to the club.

The 33-year-old only joined QPR last summer after leaving Palace, but the Eagles are keen on a reunion with the player.

Derry played a key role in helping Rangers to promotion to the Premier League last season and he was promised a new deal at Loftus Road.

However, those talks have stalled and the news has alerted Palace who could be ready to offer the experienced campaigner a return to Selhurst Park.

Derry has enjoyed three different spells at Palace during his career and Eagles boss Dougie Freedman is keen to add to his former team-mate to his squad for next season.

Freedman sees his experience as a key addition to his young squad and he is hoping to persuade Derry to give up the chance of Premier League football next season to help Palace in the Championship.

I think the most worrying thing in this article is the fact that 'talks have stalled', we don't even seem to be able to appease our own players at the moment let alone attract a new one!

I cannot imagine that NW will want to lose his leader, more importantly, I cannot see Derry giving up his last chance at Premier league football. According to what I have read, bonuses took a while to get sorted out and I am hoping that common sense prevals and he stays for next year. He may not have the "legs" to last the season, but when Ray Wilkins played it was about using the ball wisely, and stopping the other teams from finding space.
