As you know, we host Derby Sat. MUCH bigger game than the fa cup, opportunity to really cement ourselves nicely in the top 2. Opportunity to go top should Norwich feel inspired and win/draw at Bournemouth ( good test for the canaries also ) We have the best home record, and from memory Derby aren't the best on the their travels. Seem to recall 20th placed Leeds United beating them. I'd be happy with a point from this one. Sure, negative at home but it's a very hard test. Clearly delighted should we win! Gonna predict 1-1,same as their ground. 1-0 half time, 1-1 full time. Surely at least one of Bent/ C.Martin are bound to net?! Way footy goes, may have a fiver on either of them any time. I'm playing footy in the afternoon ( if on I kind of hope my games off as we're on sky! ) Att = Due to it being on sky, 21,000. COME ON YOU BLUES!
We have footy in the morning, top of the table clash; Kesgrave Kestrels U16 V Chantry Grasshoppers U16......we are kicking off at 9.30...! Hope it's not frosty.... Think we will be ok and run out winners by a couple of goals....both Kesgrave & ITFC.
A tough game this one. If we win it then suddenly there will be a bit of a gap growing, lose it and the top 6 tightens right up again. I'm going for 2-1 to the town. Goldy to score two and then Bent to score one late on for the rams.
Spanish, would love it to be 25,000 but as of yesterday we'd sold 18,500 tickets. Derby may bring 1500, but it's on tv so will probably put quite a few off for this one I would imagine. How about lineup, thoughts? Do Bishop/ Parr/ Skuse / Anderson and Tabb come back in?
I'm going to be bold and plump for a 3-0 win (albeit a bit closer than the scoreline would suggest) Murph, Didz and Ando Attendance of 22,500
Sir Bobby lower and Sir Alf lower are both very close to sold out now, around 400 tickets left in both stands, about 150 in SBRL.!
It's getting back to the old days! Who would have thought after that miserable derby day defeat that we would see crowds of over 25,000 back at Portman Road this season!
Certainly good to get more people through the gate. I was surprised however to learn the players get a bonus every week we are in the top 6! No idea what this amount will be, probably low but still!
Incentivising the team to do well-who'd have thought of doing such a thing.Tantamount to cheating,no doubt it'll be addressed in the next version of FFP!
3-1 Town Murphy (of course) and two from McG Giving bonuses for something like staying top six is a great way to motivate players, although just being in those positions is incentive enough I hope.
this has all the hallmarks of a good game.derby not wanting to lose ground on us and of course we are pushing to stay top 1 or 2. despite this i can still see us running out 2-0 winners, murph again and berra.
Be interesting to see how we'd do from being 1-0 down, not that I'd want us to. Could we turn it around like we did vs Leeds? We seem to take the lead in pretty much every game this season.
Hey gang, Though I'd join in the fun on here. I'm normally very nervous playing anyone in the top 6 but this season we seem to be beating them all. I'd plump for a 2-1 win. Hopefully the same Derby side will turn up from the FA cup last week.
