    RIGHTO.

A lot of people have been saying 'I hope for this' or 'I hope for that', but now I think it's time to put our chips on the table and make our final predictions for the game.

No opinions, no squabbling, no disagreeing, just straightforward score predictions which we can then look back on after the game and see who got it right and who got it wrong.

Also, feel free to make any additional predictions if you have a hunch about something, such as a player being sent off, or a penalty being awarded, or some other random act.

Finally, you are entitled to change your prediction over the course of the week if it transpires that something will influence the game, such as a key player being injured.

I'll save my prediction for a little later so it isn't slapped right over the first post.

2-1 to us or 2-2. Cisse tap in after Jonas goes on an amazing run and cross after 23 mins, Sessegnon half volley after a Larsson corner is only half clered by Willo as usual on 49 mins, Cabaye (freekick) after 76 mins, for which Cattermole is sent off. Their second could come at any time after a calamitous mistake by Simpson.

And a squirrel will be run over...

I'm just concerned if the derby is coming at the right or wrong time.
Were on poor form going into the game, and looking very frail at the back.
Whereas upfront with Cisse, Ba and the goal scoring maestro that is Shola** all look impressive.
**Shola only plays well in this game, so on merit he is impressive.
Positevely this should be a high scoring game and with us a home, we should have all the ingredients to go on to win. :D

Mags to win this one 2-1 or 3-1, this season is a write off thanks to Bruce, summer of strengthening and the mags will feel the full force of the O'Neill engine next year, but this year is there's well and truly

A post is just a post, but I don't want the entire thread as a whole to be based around by mag-influenced prediction, so I'll keep the OP score-free and just make a post of my own.

I just don't know really. I'm taking some comfort in the fact that the players know how important this game is and tend to play well, and the fact that we usually step up our game against good opposition instead of underestimating them like we repeatedly do against some sides.

Frankly, I'm happier that Sunderland are looking in good form, because it would be typical Newcastle if Sunderland had been struggling, we would have underestimated them and ended up having victory snatched away.

3-0 defeat. We never win after going behind, and if you do go 1-0 up, we'll lose all faith.

Saying that, didn't they recently lose 5-1 or something.
    Honestly can't remember.
Hate how we just think we can turn up and defeat teams.
They are in this league for a reason, and not here to make up the numbers.
Players who have this mentality need a kick up the arse.
    Rant over.

I'm going for a high scoring draw, 3-3.
    2 red cards
Dubious offside goals, hopefully no injuries.
Even though Pardew did mention 4 players were carry knocks going into this game.
Cabaye, Tiote, Cisse and Ba pretty much are best players.
Hopefully Ben Arfa grabs a goal to, seeming he always scores beautys. :)

    Let's tempt fate then.

You know when a commentator on the tv says so and so will never score and then they score straight away, or when a game is getting to the end and a commentator says so and so have got the points and there's no way the other side will score...and then they do.

    Well.....

.....I will say that the mags will definately win this one and there's no way we'll get anything from this game.

    See if it works!

What is it with everyone refusing to give proper predictions, very unlike the last 3 derbies <laugh>

I'll go 2-1 Newcastle, no shame in being wrong, I'm not psychic after all.

    Newcastle are favorites.

Head says 2-1 to Newcastle, Cisse and Collo from a corner, Larrson free kick.
Heart says 0-2 to Sunderland Campbell and O`Shea, again from a corner

But I am going to go for a boring, but blood and thunder midfield battle 0-0.

Just checked the odds there on Bet365:

    Newcastle win: 11/10
    Sunderland win: 13/5
    Draw: 23/10

Quite surprised to be honest. I would have thought that the odds would be a little more even.

I have never put a bet on in my life, last time I was in a betting shop I was 13 with my Grandad, and i am 39 now, just never interested me at all (this is all sports not just football). So i never even checked the odds with the bookies, you are just favorites with the season you are having, and being at home.
