Sunderland AFC supporters can stay on home turf for the forthcoming Tyne-Wear derby. On Sunday 20 March, the Stadium of Light will be opening its doors to fans unable to make the trip to see the Black Cats take on the Magpies at Newcastle’s St James’ Park. Those who choose to stay south of the River Tyne can enjoy all the build up to the big game, with a range of hospitality packages available from 9am. This includes Bar Packages, with a breakfast roll and access to the stadium’s hospitality suites and the Premier Suites packages, including allocated seating and a full English breakfast. All packages include a complimentary drink on arrival. For those who prefer to soak up the atmosphere in private, the Stadium of Light is also offering use of an executive box with access to a private balcony and a full English breakfast for each guest. Packages are priced from just £7.50. The match itself will be shown on screens inside the stadium, with kick off taking place at 1.30pm. After that there will be plenty of time for fans to assess the post-match verdict with fellow supporters, as the stadium will remain open until 4pm. Gary Hutchinson, Commercial Director at SAFC, said: “The derby is always the most anticipated game of the season and fans of all ages are keen to get involved. “By opening the Stadium of Light we hope to give supporters the opportunity to enjoy all the emotion and excitement of the match on home turf and make it more accessible for those who are unable to travel to Newcastle for whatever reason.” Tickets for the Tyne-Wear derby screening at the Stadium of Light are limited and must be booked in advance by visiting the Stadium of Light Ticket Office, calling 0871 9111555 or emailingconf&[email protected].
Im going to the pub with my best mate whos a big Newcastle fan. The last time I watched a derby with him i jumped up to celebrate Vaughans peach of a 3rd goal and spilt a full pint all over him that he'd just bought. As you can imagine he was doubly pissed off .
I'll be here at daft o'clock in the red hot atmosphere of my living room, but before the game I will watch some recordings of our last two wins.
I'm hoping to get a ticket for it. Chances are slim as I never log on in time and it seems as though the jobless or the very determined get them first!
No. For one, a point is not enough and secondly, I believe this is our time. I'm getting sick of losing to you.
I wouldn't accept anything less, mate. We've won 6 on the bounce, I don't see why we should expect anything less this time. I want us to set a record that's never going to be beat (like 1-9)
Turning into one of them clubs now Well, selfishly, I hope you are unlucky in your quest for a ticket and that you have to enjoy/endure another afternoon with VJ
Is it enough though? Given the dire situation both clubs are in surely we would need to go for broke?
Get Andy Cole and Shearer fit again with Beardsley pulling the strings and Ginola whipping the crosses in then i reckon we might lose 2 points and youll gain 1 .
Picking up tips from the Liverpool fans Nah, I'll probably go to Joe's anyway. If we do lose, not sure I want to get caught up in any **** that is likely to ensue.
I reckon I could score past your defence! Defoe is the one, as usual, who worries me. We take him out, the game is ours!
