These are usually really good, so posting here. I've followed this series for a while. The series is great and they go all over the place looking at derbies from Deportivo v Celta Vigo in the Galician derby to the Superclasico of Boca Juniors and River Plate. Others they've done include Sevilla v Real Betis, Hamburg v St Pauli, Lazio v Roma and Dortmund v Schalke. They're all pretty informative while still communicating the passion, tied together with high production quality. I really enjoy how they flesh out the cultural and societal elements rather than just focusing purely on the football. Anyway, now it's our turn! Expecting this to be a good watch too... DTLW
Watching that just reinforced how much I loved The Dell, and don't much like the corporate stuff the move to St Mary's ushered in. Pompey fans are so dim they named their 'crew' the 6.57, which is the time the first Portsmouth to Waterloo train leaves in the morning. Presumably to get out of the swamp they live in?
Great watch, cheers DTLW. "The Dell" "The Warrens" great memories. Actualy lived in Waterlooville in the mid 70,s and was the only Scummer for miles around, never had any trouble and in that time even watched more Pompey games as Saints games!. Anyone remember when Millwall were playing Salisbury in the FA Cup (1979) and some Millwall fans came down to Southampton for a ruck? I was in the "Warrens" at the time Oh how the times they change....................
yes watched is yesterday on the commute home. Its a brilliant documentary and extremely funny in parts !
Cheers DTLW, fascinating bit of film that brought a lot of memories back. I think what comes across pretty strongly, is that both cities are stuffed full of total nut jobs
