Another Goalkeeping crisis maybe http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...stle-united-facing-goalkeeper-crisis-10236438
The way Sam likes to play means who ever does play is going to be put under a lot of pressure arially. However as far as 3rd choice keepers go the lad Elliot isn't bad mind.
He's not as good as they think buts he's far from a bad keeper, fits into the modern keeper model of a good (on his day great) shot stopper but lacks the other attributes that make a keeper world class organization, distribution etc
I'd echo that about Krul and add that he was a great prospect 5 years ago but seems to be no better now than he was then so people have to realise that he is simply going to be average. As regards modern keepers, the main issue I have isn't that so many are just glorified shot stoppers with little all round ability but that they don't manage to have the wherewithal to play within their ability. Krul has terrible distribution at times yet insists on trying things beyond his ability and gifting possession away - just don't do it! Elliott is pretty poor but at least knows his job well enough to not try anything silly. Now that sentence is tempting fate if he does end up playing...
