Pompey are on the road for the final time this season when they visit Derby on Saturday (3pm kick-off). With John Mousinho’s men now unable to reach the top six, pride is all that is at stake for the Blues, who will be backed by more than 3,000 supporters at Pride Park. It is a much more crucial contest for the hosts, who currently occupy the final League One play-off spot. The Rams are below fifth-placed Bolton on goal difference, with the pair both trying to hold off Peterborough, who sit two points further back in seventh. Paul Warne’s side go into the contest on a five-match unbeaten run, which includes narrow wins in their two most recent fixtures against Exeter and Burton. And they will be particularly keen for a win in their final home match, as the final day sees them visit a Sheffield Wednesday outfit who could still be in the hunt for automatic promotion. Derby are looking to make an immediate return to the Championship after suffering relegation under Wayne Rooney’s leadership last term. That came amidst financial turmoil, with the club only going down because they were deducted a total of 21 points for entering administration and breaching accounting rules. It finished goalless when the sides met at Fratton Park earlier in the campaign, while Pompey were beaten 3-1 on their last visit to Pride Park for a second tier contest in October 2011. TEAM NEWS Ronan Curtis (knee) and Jayden Reid (knee) are both missing, while Zak Swanson (groin) is unlikely to feature in the final two games after returning to training following a groin problem. Denver Hume (knee) is also a doubt, but Joe Morrell is available again after completing a four-match ban. James Chester (calf) and Tony Springett (ankle) are both missing for Derby, whose matchday squad will likely include former Pompey players Luke McGee, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Harvey White. With Pompey having only pride to play for at Pride Park, I can only see a comfortable win for Derby, who themselves will be champing at the bit for three points to stay in the playoff positions
Elsewhere it is the final day of the regular season in non-league. Havant & waterlooville still have a mathematical chance of clinching the final play-off place, but need to beat Welling Utd at home and hope that St Albans City lose at home to Farnborough Town, with an aggregate turn-round of six goals.
What was I just saying, our first shot on goal, and it's 0-1 to Pompey in front of their fans. 24 minutes. It's against the run of play, but the visitors don't care. Joe Morrell lifts a lovely pass onto the head of Colby Bishop, whose header clips the inside of the post and crosses the line. His 20th league of the season !
Havant & Waterlooville now 2-0 down so now looking forward to welcoming Yeovil Town and Torquay Utd to Westleigh Park in National League South next season
Attempt saved. Colby Bishop right footed shot from the right side of the box is saved in the bottom right corner. Assisted by Paddy Lane. 35 minutes.
Paddy Lane races onto the ball down the right and cuts it back, with Marlon Pack playing it on forJoe Pigott, whose low shot is turned around the post by Wildsmith. 42 minutes.
Conor Ogilvie looks to have doubled the lead when he meets Paddy Lane's corner, but Wildsmith makes a superb instinctive save to keep the ball out. 43 minutes.
