We go to Derby, a place we know well, a step up from the old Baseball Ground, but a place Masky has never graced! When Masky visits, house prices go up, wives get serviced and generally things improve! Anyways, received a call from Old Sparkey’s mate, Alan Durban, asking about the state of play with our boys! Gary Madine was mentioned because he reads my reports and is a bit confused about whether he plays for us or not......I seemed to remember he was a bit confused in his spells here....like BFB, a silly arse! Anyway, another draw possible here, we are not scoring enough goals....a Wednesday night in dour Derby.....no Rooney....can only mean a 0-0 bore! Ivanhoe, with the winner! Bollocks, tuck in boys!
I notice, and Masky has noticed before, that when BFB gets insulted....BT always posts a like! Isn’t that fugging an interesting thingy eh?
Time to let go of Snowgate"? Nah, let's plough on. Anyway, I'm seeing this game as a significant indicator as to where we are in terms of ambition, tactical prowess and style. Derby are joint second lowest scorers and third highest in conceding goals. After the disappointment of the game against Boro when we knew what to expect but did little about it, we really do have to go after Derby and start laying down some markers. We seem to do better at empty away grounds than an empty CCS, so here's hoping.
Interesting comments by Harris today but nothing about the weather https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...s/cardiff-city-press-conference-live-19171398
It seems that Lee Tomlin is facing a fitness test tonight because of a groin strain...WTF? Masky always carries a groin strain or as he likes to refer to it as ‘Big Todge Syndrome ‘..........don’t look at Masky!
Ahh, just noticed your contribution clingo on this matchday thread amongst all the todger-speak on here. I really hope we get a few more game orientated comments after Masky's excellent OP to get the ball rolling. I understand this season is all to do with "evolution rather than revolution", a phrase we've heard many times. We need to see some evidence of that during the 90 minutes on the pitch during games rather than just rhetoric in the pre and post match media. This being the first of two consecutive away games, it might be too much to ask for a complete revamp of our gameplan, but a little encouragement in team selection and tactics wouldn't go amiss.
I don’t think it’ll be much different from the set up at Blackburn and Preston, injuries excepted. It’s ironic we’re unbeaten away from home - it’s endemic of this division; look at Preston- won 3 away on the spin but lost all their home games.
Not being pedantic Sparks (well I probably am) but Blackburn 0 Us 0 and Preston 0 Us 1, consecutively Please note I'm excluding myself from Masky's inflammatory remarks. Life is too short. Direby's confidence must be rock bottom unless their manager can produce an inspirational team talk. Harris will be aware of that and make sure our guys are quick out of the blocks both halves. To nick a goal in the first few minutes of each half would really knock the wind out of them. Our team selection will be very interesting. Tom Lawrence always plays like he has something to prove against us. Keep him quiet for 15/20 minutes and his head will go down.
Can’t help but notice that my old pal OS is being rather nice to Masky lately, even had a few likes eh...WTF?
No Wilson. Shock. Horror. Lots of scorer changes on prediction league. Bacuna at right back. Bennett back at left back. Tough on Bagan. Pack, Ralls and Vaulks in midfield. Not seen subs so don't know if Tomlin in 18. Hoilett in for Murphy. Looks a bit pedestrian lacking spark in the middle.
Yes I’ve changed my prediction completely Was looking forward to the game but not now seeing that defensive looking team What’s happened to Wilson?
Tomlin not on bench either but Mark Harris is. Marshie injured so not in goal for them. No idea what is up with Wilson. I thought he might have dropped to the bench for a rest but as for not in the squad at all........
