On friday night Charlton lost 1-0 to rivals Crystal Palace (sorry to remind everyone) with Dikgacoi scoring the goal. Derby also lost at the weekend when they took on Huddersfield. They also went down 1-0 with Ward scoring the goal for Huddersfield. I had expected them to kick on from that result but they then went and lost 1-0 to Huddersfield. We are yet to win away from home this season and have one draw (Birmingham) and one loss (Forest). I can't see us taking a win from this one but I also don't see us losing. I reckon a 1-1/2-2 draw is on the cards tonight
My team would be: Hamer Solly - Morro - Cort - JJ Green - Stephens - Hollands - Kerkar BWP - Fuller I know dropping Yann won't be popular - but remember last year where we had Hayes who we thought had a blossoming partnership with BWP, but YK came along and proved to be the better option. I don't see Kermo and Fuller working (very well could be wrong) due to both players liking to arrive deep, my concern would be that any balls in to the box won't be attacked (especially if JJ fills in at LB).
Still feeling very morose after Friday when all of our weaknesses were exposed. Desperately hope for changes but not convinced we will see them. I'd have Green, Kerkar and Fuller in for Jacko, Pritch and Kermit. I'd go with Solly and Wilson as full backs despite the signal this would send to Evina. I suspect the only likely change is Green. If Pritchard plays then CP is really his Daddy! Not confident at all. 2-0 Derby.
If Green does play as seems likely it would be harsh to drop Kermit, since he is the most likely to get on the end of Green's crosses. He has had to deal mostly with long balls out of defence and the service to him and BWP has been abysmal. So it would also be harsh to drop BWP since he has had to chase mostly hopeful punts upfield. Obviously Fuller wasn't brought in just to play the odd half-hour, so The Doctor will have to prove his management skills and find a way of using them to our best advantage, which means sorting out our midfield basically. He has to stop playing Pritchard out of position- it is destroying him. I still think he has the makings of a decent CM. I think this match will tell us something about how The Doctor is adapting to life in Division 2.
Hamer Solly Cort Morrison Wilson Stephens Hollands JJ Kerkar Fuller Kermo Reckon we'll get a scrappy 1-0 win! Oh and abit of other news Ade Azeez has received a England U19 Call Up!
Derby starting line-up: Fielding, Brayford, O'Connor, Keogh, Roberts; Coutts, Hendrick, Bryson, Hughes; Ward, Sammon subs: Legzdins (GK), Buxton, Gjokaj, Freeman, Robinson, Doyle, Jacobs.
Cheer up lads, it's not all doom and gloom. We have a goal-a-game striker on our books, and I am not talking about reserve or junior football but League football. Three goals in three games and maybe more to come tonight. Goalscorers command a premium. I wonder what he is worth? 3 million? 4 million? Maybe we could get 5 million if Sir Alex is interested in Leon Clarke?
ok, maybe you shouldnt listen. playing crap.... they've described derby as being content. which means its a bit of a cake walk
we'll start playing in the last ten mins and SCP will say "we deserved something from the game" and because its fresh (the last ten) in the memory he'll not change the team. next match, 451... extra midfielder and two out and out wingers (not jacko)
