Here we go,all the hype about a local derby because we are playing Cardiff City,yes they are only 40 odd miles away (approx) but that's over the water in the principality,we have nothing in common,except Championship membership and the need for points.

You can stuff Plymouth,Torquay,Exeter,Swindon and even Yeovil,with due respect to all of these teams they are not local rivals,regionally yes,not local.

Our local rivals historically,our culture,family,friends,DNA wise is Bristol Rovers,there is nothing better than a blue mass of battenburgs shouting out and singing that irrating song in our away end and the overwhelming response of the boys in Red on and off the pitch when we stick the ball past them and silence them,nothing as bad when they score and defeat us,the feeing walking away with a victory achieved,the "gas" put in their place,what a week to look forward to,walk tall,walk Red and laugh at the expense of the pirates.

Ah well back to Cardiff,the Welsh and a possible victory but how I ache for the real thing,not in a lower league but perhaps in a cup round.

You can't beat a Rovers V City derby. If you win, you can walk tall and take the piss out of your workmates or schoolmates. Lose and you want to die or at least pull a sicky so you dont have to suffer the abuse.

not many proper club anthems left is there? i know stoke still sings delilah and of course liverpool got you never walk alone but what other club anthems are out there?
