As a huge Depor fan, I m relieved to be writing this today, as last night, I was certain they'd be relegated to the 2nd B of Spanish football, which would probably mean them being wound up.
However, much as I love their president, Augusto Cesar Lendoiro no less, you have to ask how the club has got into the state it's in. From Spanish champions just over ten years ago, and regulars in the money spinning Champions League, they now owe a massive 156m euros to all and sundry, including the players, some of whom have been waiting for a year to get paid.
I honestly wonder whether they¡d be better off folding and building from scratch as Compostela did years back (Not to mention Wimbledon) but obviously, that would involve shafting all their creditors. All round, they're in sad shape, and it'll cost them a lot to go back to La Liga as they're going to have to play with cheaper players.
    Any Depor fans out there?
