Just as we all suspected the offer of a new deal has been withdrawn for Deon. Shame really, he added the extra class we needed last season and came up with some valuable and great goals. With the arrival of Bayo we all suspected it and this link confirms it for us. Good luck Deon on your next venture, shame it's not with us but you will always be remembered as part of the 2013 champions! http://www.kentnews.co.uk/sport/deon_burton_s_contract_offer_withdrawn_says_agent_1_2271801
Yes, I agree touches of class were evident last season and I wish him all the best. However, also I will not lie, I never saw that evidence enough and sometimes felt him and Keds did not click mentally on the pitch. Just a personal opinion nothing more.
I do see what you are saying brb, I did say many times that him and Kedwell was not a good partnership as it just did not work and that is why I always said we should play Burton with someone else or Kedwell with someone else as they play the same way and unless you are going to play 3 upfront then that will not work as you just can't play 2 players that play the same type of football. However when paired with someone else Burton did do well and that is why I think it is a shame that Burton is not staying as he did do really well away from home and he did show them moments of real class. Good luck to him, I hope he gets a new club, maybe somewhere like Portsmouth as he was linked with them a while back but that may just be because he used to play for them.

Deon is currently on trial with Scunthorpe United. Sounding quite good for him so far, hope he gets a deal. Good luck Deon! http://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/article/boss-will-look-at-trialists-914469.aspx
Well done GillsPegLeg, you just made me realise there was a newbie post awaiting approval Looks like he beat you to it fella #7
Just looking through the newbie profile, I don't think the user has worked out that the links are blocking its posts. I best go release them.
Good luck Deon, and thanks! He was a crucial part of our brilliant title-winning season. Without his three excellently taken goals against Rotherham, we would not have been champions (they would've been!)
