i understand him being a "Legend" but world class im not havin that

That's the great thing with opinions, if you don't agree you can have your own, it is allowed you know?
As Bluemoon say's 21 caps in a good England side, he definitely got better with age and when you see his goals and assists at all levels you can see why people can say that.

Very underrated player, all clubs have them i guess.

I think his reputation as a hard man type player fooled some people into thinking he wasn't a good footballer but he really was especially during his later years with us. Players like Zola, Poyet, Bobby etc really brought the best out of him and he flourished in a very good footballing side. Not too disimilar to Scott Parker at the moment. Similar players IMO.

i admire your loyalty and respect your opinion, i guess we just saw a different Dennis Wise

I isn't loyalty, its because in the latter stages of his career he was a great player. He definitely learned from all the other world class players at the Bridge at the time.

Robby, some are great and some have greatness thrust upon them. some can deal with it some can't, Dennis thought he was great, when some didn't.

the problem i have is if you say Dennis Wise is world class, where does that leave Frank Lampard,if he's world class that puts him on a par with Dennis wise,if Dennis is a good player and Frank is world class that i can accept,Dennis at his best is no Frank Lampard.

Bad simile, Dennis and Frank are very different midfielders indeed. Dennis was a combative ball winning play maker who in my view became world class through learning from players like Vialli, Guillit, Zola, and Frank is a link up player who has a fantastic knack of arriving in the box at the right time. A gift that some players have and Frank has. 2004-2006 Frank was world class but still remains a top notch player with few equals.

Depends on what people define as 'world class. Can players like Frank and Wise mix it with the best in the world...well yes cos they have proven that in the C.L for instance.

But for them to be world class how should Messi, Zidane etc be described???

Wise is a legend, he round up nicky butt or was it scholes? so much that he got him sent off, and that was after wise had been fouled by em we went on to stuff utd 5-0 :D
