    Hi spurs fans

For fantasy football purposes, how much do you see dempsey playing this season? Will he be playing basically every epl game? Because as far as I can see he will be rotating with sigurdsson? Or do I have that wrong. Any advice appreciated lads!

By the way, the choice is between him and nathan dyer at swansea who I think may have a very good season with Laudrup in charge.

Ask us again later, there's a lot of things up in the air at the moment :D

From our bid for Moutinho I think we can assume we were going to switch to 433, especially with VDV leaving. Whether we do that anyway is anyone's guess right now but if we do I'd expect Dempsey to be on the right of the 3 picked ahead of Lennon, if not he's competing with Sig in the middle and Lennon on the right.

In short, given that he's a bit last minute I wouldn't expect him to be a first choice pick straight away atleast.

  3. The fact is, that Dempsey choose to come to us, rather than to 'Pool, who have been making great noises about wanting him. The fact that he's chosen to come to us must mean that he expects to get game time.

'Pool having got rid of Carroll and not having made any viable replacement has definitely weakened them.

Clever business by Levy, in my view.

Dempsey will definitely be involved in every game. Likely as a starter but even if he's on the bench he'll definitely get game time. I can see him fighting with Sig and Lennon for a place in the "second 3" behind Ade.

Dyer is a certified starter at Swansea but I think if Dempsey can match his form from the past two seasons, he'll flourish here at Spurs and would certainly be a better pick than Dyer I think. Dyer's a cracking player though, quite surprised his name wasn't mentioned in the transfer window, not that he's at bad a club at the moment anyway.

He's played in a variety of positions in his time at Fulham, but never played badly in any of them, I'm pleased with the signing, a versatile forward can only be a good thing. He loves getting on the end of things in the box, showed real desire in some of his goals last season. A front 3 of Bale, Ade and Dempsey doesn't look bad if thats how its going to be.

Dempsey is best on the left and cutting in. He can play on the right, centre or as a withdrawn striker. Whatever the liverscum say, he only plays as a striker in emergency - when we were waiting for Pog's work permit etc.

Dembele is the better player (and person). A true ball carrier and creator. I wish we could have kept Dembele.

Obviously it's a bit early to say Norfolk, he won't be playing tomorrow though so I'd wait on putting him in.

I think ideally he will take Lennon's place on the right of our attacking quartet, but we may also see him play in the central role where VdV used to play and where Sigurdsson is expected to fill in. Basically I think there are 3 players competing for two positions, and I currently rate him as the best of those 3 players so he should get plenty of game time.

Dempsey is a good utility player, and he scores goals! Certainly something we could use. What I admire most about him though, is that he's a worker, a tryer, he never gives up and always gives 100% - we could use some of that spirit, as well.

    Cheers Valleyswan! <ok>

I wonder how Rodgers is feeling at the moment... The team he's left is currently far superior to the one he's at and he can't change that at least until January now. What was he/ they thinking loaning out Carroll leaving Suarez as the only recognised out-and-out striker?

You guys must be laughing at the £15m you got for Allen, while I think he's good player with potential, £15m for a player with one season in the Prem for his experience is fantastic business for Swansea. A shame 'Pool didn't want to offer £30m for a double deal of Jenas and Bentley from us <laugh>

All the best for the season pal, good to see there are still a few teams in the league that like playing football the right way <ok>

Thanks for that <ok> we took £22m from Liverpool including Brendan and staff plus of course Allen, it's probably the reason they couldn't afford to bring anyone else in <laugh> honestly you just can't make it up.

Looking forward to playing you guys now with siggy , and caulker back with you as well it's going to be an interesting couple of games. <cheers>

    Any views on Caulker Valley?

This board seems to be split on whether or not he is ready for a starting place at Spurs, with Kaboul now injured. Who was the better defender for you last year, Caulker or Williams?

Think caulker is a cracking player, if he gets his chance he won't let you down , he was our backbone last season and I'm still a bit gutted he's not coming back. As for him or Williams, can't decide but they complemented each other very well, they knew each others game and had almost a telepathic understanding of where they'd be and who did what.

I don't think he really code you.
He rejected Villa but Fulham never accepted Lafferpools bid so he couldn't go there. You were like his final option really.

Lafferpools late half-arsed bid as you call it contained players Fulham didn't want, it wasn't all cash. No, he didn't choose us, he was wandering aimlessly round Chigwell and we invited him in out of the rain!
