I can't say I was in favour of us getting Dempsey but considering our current attacking options, I'd take him if no one else is coming

Dempsey would have been good for us, we could certainly have used the 20 goals he would have given us
and we could recoup the transfer fee in shirt sales alone across the pond... bazray could be our US sales rep!
On SSN now it's just been reported that Dempsey has said that he wants to come to us, and now Villa have pulled out. Think it's definitely going to happen and he'll be a Livepool player relatively soon
My main issue is that I can't see Brendan playing him down the middle. Would rather have a proper striker.

I'm with Billy on this one, the thing we are severely lacking is goals. If Dempsey gets us 15 I'd be more than happy. Also got the yank shirt sales to think about, as someone else said.
Spot on. Dempsey doesn't want to join Villa, and according to Sky Sports Liverpool are 4/7 to sign him, as he wants to join us. It looks like happening too, as Liverpool have saved themselves £6 million(€7.5 million) from Andy Carroll joining WHU on loan, plus Charlie Adam is on the verge of a move to Stoke, he's reportedly having a medical. There is also rumours of Schurrie joining Chelsea for £20 million from Bayer Leverkusen. which may also allow us to take Daniel Sturridge either on loan or permanently.
Has anyone confirmed how much Dempsey is available for? If it's anything above £7mil, we definitely need to stay clear! 29 years old and jusy because he's scored plenty for Fulham doesn't mean he'll do the same for us. We've fallen for that one too many times!
Think Dempsey will be good plan B material. Damioa also coming in? Yes please! Potentially Sturridge too, we look a lot stronger up top then.
