I found this in an article on the USSoccer.com website about the US team for our upcoming international matches: "Additionally, Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey will remain in London to receive treatment for back spasms. Dempsey will join the team in Brussels on Sunday in advance of the match against Belgium on Sept. 6 at King Badouin Stadium." Does anyone have any more info? Dude, it's just an excuse. He's tired and, like a good lad, wants to focus on his work for Fulham. Flying an hour to Belgium for a friendly is one thing. Flying nine hours back and forth to the states for a meaningless game against Costa Rica is another. In Belgium at least he can pick up some good beer.
