Dempsey anyone?

Anyone else think he wouldnt be the worst buy in the world ? Been playing really well for fulham in the last few seasons and has 18 goals so far this season; would add good strength to the squad and can score goals and play in a number of positions and would come relatively cheap. Can't imagine we will get him but i think he'll be off to a bigger club in the summer

 

As much as I respect Dempsey, he is not the man for united and not the player to fill scholes Void.

 

Im not claiming hes the man to fill the scholes void i just think he could be a decent addition to the squad

 

I disagree, at his age he wants games week in week out, not gonna happen at OT would be surplus

 

I think he's the best player that doesn't play for one of the top 5 in the premier league. He would certainly improve our midfield

 

Don't think he would fit in our squad. He plays best as a left winger, but has flourished under Jol's 4-2-3-1 formation this season. I think the advanced role he's been given has freed him up a bit. He would do well at Arsenal I think though.

I think Dempsey plays best in the Rooney role, playing off the striker, he's a good player who's on a great run of form but not the right man for United at this time in my opinion, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a Juventus shirt next season though.

 

Wouldn't count on that. Rejected bids from AC and PSG in the summer of around £10 million, this was before his 18 goals this season.

 

Dembele is the guy from Fulham that is probably one of the most talented players outside the big clubs. If only he had more goals to his name, he'd be one of the best in the league. Honestly, he is like RVP but without the goals but he does tend to play deeper/wider, certainly not as a striker.

Dempsey is a bit like Cahill. They have talent, but because they aren't from a fashionable footballing nation, it almost gets overlooked. Didn't Dempsey score the winner for the USA against Spain a few seasons back?

 

This. Fulham would value him at around £15 to £20 million.

 

I don't think he scored the winner against spain, as we won 2-0 and he got the second goal. He did get the winner against Italy last week.

 

If memory serves me better this time, Dempsey got the first and Altidore the second?

Just looked it up. Altidore got the first, and Demspey got the 2nd. Altidore has been a beast this season at AK Alhzmaar. About time too, he had been pretty **** for awhile with national team.
