There are reports in several papers that spurs are going to bid 10m for Dembele,
as they could be selling Modric for 50m 10m? is Modric 4/5 times better.
We sold Smalling for 12 mil a complete unknown.
In JOL we have a manager who
I dont think will be overawed,by any bid just because, the bidder may be deemed
to have a higher profile than us.
While I would like to see him stay being a part of the new set up,a realistic price would be 15mil.
My motto is "we have got him", "you want him" so this is the price.
What say you other FFC 606rs..
Just a thought BZ & AJ out 8/10 mil Demba Ba in ?

To me he's worth 25 million. He's 24 and can only improve.

eventually dembele will have to leave in order to further his development but hopefully not to spurs, he doesn't really fit the system. he is worth 10m plus another player, or 15m on his own. The only deal that would be worth taking is Dembele for 8m + Krancjar + Pienaar

Think Dembele is not the end product yet, if he could start to get in positions to score more goals, he would be a £20m player.
The 3 Amigos were the hub of our passing game yesterday, but we need more end product from Dembele and Ruiz, just like Clint 'The Ghost' Dempsey does.

Can see Spurs wanting a player like Dembele, but if Modric is still there he might not get the game time he does with us.
But if they want him, I'm sure he will want to leave, so as roscafre says if they want him, make them pay.

Can't see Demba Ba coming to us from Newcastle.

In what way are Newcastle a "better" club than us?

Anyway, we want to keep Dembele, we don't desperately need money so we should make them fork out the big bucks, £15m+.

I agree, can't see Ba leaving Newcastle for us, he is first choice and they are a bigger club, who are also doing better than us at the moment. Spuds are interested in him (who aren't they interested in) so can't see him coming here.

I'm not sure Jol would be too happy selling his prized asset to the club that forced him out of the Premier League either. If we were to sell him I would want Huddlestone in some sort of exchange deal, throw in Niko too ;)

It will be very interesting to see how Newcastle fare without Ba and Tiote, both of whom have probably been their best players this season along with Cabaye.

Ba would be brilliant but he would only leave newcastle for a top six club. As for Dembele I'd take £15m for him, he's only been particularly good for the last couple of months. I'd rather keep him as I'm getting quite excited by seeing Dembele, Ruiz, Dempsey and Frei regularly playing together, but if the right offer came in for him and we reinvested it in this transfer window then I'd be content to see him move on.

Considering his young age, is a full international and has Premier League experience, I think £15 million should be the very least he should go for. We have already rejected £10 million and he has only gotten better since then. If Spurs aren't willing to go higher than 10 then we should get Niko or Huddlestone in an exchange deal.

He still needs a lot of work to fit in a team like spurs. If he goes there and has a dip in form he will be lost, something that will not happen at Fulham. Dembele is similar to Van der Vaart with the difference he is not scoring as many goals!

If we got £10m and Huddlestone then that would be brilliant. Huddlestone in my opinion if he could stay fit for longer enough would be a great replacement for murphy. Not sure Redknapp would let him go though as he's made it clear before he rates him very highly, though he is probably behind Parker and Sandro at the moment so may be willing to let him leave.

Ah ok, I agree with that. Only I wouldn't say they have better players than us, they just have someone who can stick them away!

I'm not sure what Harry's current stance is on Huddlestone, on whether or not he rates him, my Spuds supporting friend highly rates him and reckons without injury he would be a first team player even ahead of Parker. I'm not totally sure what position Niko plays in, is he a winger or a Murphy type player?

Kranjcar is a winger, or I think he can play where Dembele, Dempsey et al do. Huddlestone is more a Murphy-type player, great range of passing from deep and has a good shot on him. If he can prove his fitness I wouldn't mind seeing him at the club. The only other player I'd be tempted to take off Spurs would be Pavlyuchenko. I don't really have a specific reason, I just rate him and could see him doing alright for us.

So, so true. Look at Kranjcar, Pienaar, Bentley - all were doing great for their clubs until they signed for Spurs. A single dip in form and they were shelved.

Evening guys, here's my take on things..

I haven't seen the article but I know Dembele has been a target for us for awhile. £15mill might be too much for us as we're going to need another defender and a striker that can play upfront on his own as backup for Adebayor. Even though Dembele likes to play off the striker, I'd expect him to be backup/competition for Lennon and Bale, Defoe doesn't play well with VDV so when VDV is out we revert to 442, making Defoe effectively backup for VDV.

On the subject of Spurs players, Modric is going nowhere in January Levy, refused to sell in the summer and I'm sure whatever price he had in his head, you can add an extra 10/20mill to that for him to risk upsetting the balance of our team mid season when we're doing so well. Huddlestone won't be made available in any transfer, he's our backup for Modric as he's a playmaker, rather than a tackling midfielder like Sandro or Parker. Kranjcar has been a good player for us but he just doesn't quite fit into our team any more, he's too slow to play in midfield he's not great on the wing and VDV and Defoe are better options to have playing off a striker, I think he'd do very well for you guys and worth a punt regardless of any deal for Dembele. Pienaar's been injured pretty much non-stop since arriving and could be available as 'Arry seems to have lost confidence in him, refusing to play him when Lennon was injured.

In terms of valuations, we were holding out for £10+mill for Kanjcar in the last two windows, we weren't desperate to sell but I think we may lower that price as he's only getting a handful of games and has repeatedly said that he wants to play. Pienaar we got cheap because his contract was expiring but we're not in a hurry to sell him so I'd expect him to be valued around the £10mill mark. All in all you won't get £10mill plus those two unless you're throwing in Stockdale and Hangelaand in too <whistle>

Would you like Dempsey and Ruiz as well? :p

I really can't see you getting anywhere near that price for Pienaar, like you said he came cheap and has been injured constantly, therefore failing to add any value to the price you paid for him.
