perry, i think were missing vdv as we dont have that link between midfield and attack which is why when demebele missing it causes real issues through the centre as while dembele does sit deep, without him we look disjointed.

we need a vdv/crouch or a sheringman/jurgen type partnership if we want to move forward and with dembele controlling the mudfield then him sitting deep wouldnt be an issue.

It could be just temporary until Parker is available. That would enable Dembele to play in a more advanced position.

What worries me Boss is that AVB doesn't seem to have a plan B when A doesn't work.
It showed last week when MD & Bale were missing we looked a bit lost in midfield, Hudd isn't the answer we thought he might be.

agree mate, avb is a one tricky pony but is meant to be a tactical genuis?

look at ferguson. he has back.up plans, changes formation if key players missing and trys to adapt the formation to suit the players that are fit....he hasn't done too bad !

can you imagine the situation we would be in if we never signed dembele! if we sign mountinho then that will solve the problem with our midfield in.terms of more options then possibly dembele could be free to move more forward.

Yes, Moutinho or Willian would be ideal. I just don't think it's going to happen!..

I thought that we didn't do enough in the summer transfer window and the player who has blossomed the most is MD(Not sure he looks like the missing link though perry) and he is our most important midfielder. Others have said that he plays too deep and I hope that AVB notices this. As for not quite clicking well that's true but we didn't quite click properly under Harry at the end of last season losing all those matches and not getting third. Is Parker an AVB type player? Not sure he fits in with the plans.

All this talk about Moutinho is fine, but the what if.. he goes to PSG and Willian ends up in Chavland.
Who else is out there that can do the playmaker job? Is Dempsey capable of doing it?

Porto probably won't sell Moutinho now anyway, given they have a Hulk-shaped hole in their team as it is.
